Good things:
Really good pole lap from Lewis.
Nice to see Kimi edge ahead of Nando, I really hope that means he's coming to terms with the car. Could be an interesting side battle for the rest of the year .... I hope so
Top effort by Romain to snag 5th

My favourite things:
Dan 3rd ... woo hoo, really chuffed about that.

If it was Ferrari in Mercedes' position I'd be picking them for a 1-2. Believe me, it's much sweeter picking and then seeing your man and his team in a 1-2 than it was seeing someone else and their team in a 1-2. I can see how one could get used to it.

And, to be fair, I can understand the frustration in seeing your team not do as well as you hope!
Again... it's subjectivity rearing its ugly head!

Quali performance of the day to Grosjean, Bottas close second. Sulk of the day, Nico.

And just to add to this fabulous post...

Burn of the day, Lewis 'You already said that' Hamilton.

Gracious loser, Vettel. He appeared genuinely sorry for the possible blocking when his car went kaput.

Plus we can guarantee a safety car with Vettel down the grid. Always happens.

Sulk of the day: Adrian "I'll bottle ya mate!" Sutil

We get it you feel like there's less grip, you said it more than Button did all of last season.

Funny how kimi left lotus in search of a better drive and now he is behind one. Maldonado left Williams for a better drive and he is behind a Williams. But at least Alonso outqualified his team mate, oh wait, that's his old team mate.

Do know the first four races were a real bummer for Lotus too

I think a special mention also needs to made for Max Chilton. Superb qualifying effort, beating not only his team-mate Bianchi, but also both of the Caterham cars. Eddie Jordan was very supportive of him in the post-quali discussion on the BBC, which was kind of refreshing, given the criticism he often receives.
