Delighted to see you back! And what a year to choose!!! :D:D:D

Thank you, RC.

Yes, quite a year so far. I'm still celebrating the Ham to Mercedes bit. Awesome what a friendlier environment, decent car and leveled playing field (new rules) can do for our man. I do love competition but I really could do with one year of total domination…in F1…and a WDC before he gets involved with any real battles from the likes of Alonso and Vettel next year. After the last couple of tumultuous years at McLaren with dodgy cars (and team-ma…ooo, better not start anything here), he deserves an experience worthy of his talents. Biased and a bit selfish…yes, I'll own those. No worries. :)

Welcome back matey

Thank you Jabberwocky.

Emm…curious. Since last we visited, you were "DD's eunuch." It's been some time. Is that a permanent post…umm, duty…responsibility? How exactly would you categorize your…situation? Once a eunuch, always a eunuch then?

Good to hear from ya.

Cheerz

There was an incident in DD's dungeon... There was a slight communication mix up. I said put a sheath on it. DD's hearing aid battery was not too good and thought I said Shears... anyway I can sing all the beegees songs now.

Ugh! And to think I was just about to order a couple hotdogs from the food truck for lunch. Soup and salad it is. Thank you Jabber for that wonderful imagery.

:rofl: Indeed. All I ever wanted for Lewis was a decent car and freedom from a sneaky backstabbing team mate and a useless TP. Give him a level playing field and a sniff of victory and he'll do the rest. But like you say, after all the shag and hassle, I'll take a year of domination. Thank you very much :P

RC and the rest of the gang…anyone get the feeling Nico hasn't quite come to terms with what he's up against? Do you think he really knows? I can hear the brave chatter about "beating my team-mate" and of course, it's always good for one to have confidence in one's self but at some point reality leaves hand prints on your face. I saw a mix of fear and frustration in Nico's eyes on the Chinese podium. Frustrating that there doesn't seem to be anything he can do, even when he has the upper hand (better tyres, pole, etc.). I've heard the Senna/Prost thing…it's gonna fizzle quickly. Nico is very fast on a good day but it's not enough. It's OK, two drivers can't win the same race or Championship, right? So I have to ask, anyone interesting in seeing this one-sided affair boil over into turmoil between the two. A little bit of nastiness to spice things up? Anyone…? Recently, Alonso took this carefully cultivated backhand at Nico: Source - SkySport, Conclusions from the 2014Chinese GP. It reads, Fernando, typically, had the perfect answer in the post-race press conference, combining a cautionary tone with a psychological hit: "Today we are on the podium, seven seconds behind Nico...but Kimi's one minute behind the leaders. Personally, I have had an extremely good weekend, probably at the level of 2012." Message received loud and clear. OK, maybe the swipe wasn't intentional but for a sensitive lad like Nico, reading it the way I and many did, that will further his discontent, surely.

I like Nico, but I do think he's looking like he's on the back foot. And as I've said before I think he's flattered by the huge gap Merc have which prevents the likes of Alonso and Ricciardo getting in the mix. Be interesting to see how things pan out in Spain ( I'm in Venice that weekend DOH!) I think it will help Lewis if the gap has narrowed, but I expect the gap may have widened......but one never knows!

It is early days but has anyone figured out yet how many races Lewis would need to win in order to win the WDC regardless of what any other driver does? I feel like he should have Hungary, Canada, Spa, Texas and Abu Dhabi in hand. He seems to own those circuits. Spain and Monaco suits him. Silverstone is an emotional event that brings out the best in him, especially if it's damp. Three down, how many to go. I could do the analysis myself but honestly, I'm being a lazy sod right now. :)

We can tell by the way you used to walk, you're a woman's man.

I can't be arsed with the maths either. It takes three and a bit wins ( over second places) to make up for a DNF. So reliability will play a big part, particularly in the double points race.

Hullo, SC!! I wasn't around when you were; but, it's easy to see why you'd want to come back!!
Welcome back!!

p.s. I love the honesty:

Thank you Lew and Sagi. Feels like being away at boarding school and returning home after a few years. :hehe:

How active has the chat room been during races? I've enjoyed a few of those.

I used to use it all the time, but not so much recently. Other members still use it though. I may look in at the next live race, if I'm free.

I went on a few times last week but it was deserted :(
