Actually, I grew up in Adelaide (I miss driving down Anzac Highway to go to the beach, the most). I have a cousin in Spain and a few Spanish friends (who don't watch F1, but are big barcelona fans) so that is my Spanish connection. The tire wars and the fact they were not on the same tire or team does not distract from the point that FA was an absolutely amazing and a fair racer. So far, the only thing that FA haters can pick on is that he spat the dummy off-track when LH was beating him and that he "couldn't fathom" etc....but that is all they can talk about, nothing else. Unfortunately for them of course.
After years and years of watching a guy taking out Damon Hill and JV on track in order to win the WDC, of watching Rubens having to back off after the last corner on the last lap, and many other unsportman like antics, years and years of the same thing, what a hero Alonso is to came and do what he did. Before FA, I used to turn on the TV, see two Ferraris at the front row, watch the start and the first corner for crashes, and once MS got away clean, turn off the TV by the second corner. Everyone knew what the result would be. FA could have been from the moon for all I cared, he gave me F1 back.
dude you HAVE to be from Spain yeah?
and you woke up and saw your god beaten by his team mate at McLaren and couldnt fathom how so it must be a conspiracy against your god, maybe Judith was his team principal! yes thats it.
05 and 06 was all about the tyre war, FACT!
If Bridgestones were any good in the 05 regs Schumi would have been battling with Kimi and Fernando for the title, as the Ferrari was still a good car but was let down by the tyres. In 06 Michelin and Bridgestone would trade blows on various circuits
to say Fernando beat Schumi is ok but you havent taken into account all the variables in that contest. They werent in the same car they werent in on the same tyres.
i feel kinda weird this post makes me sound pro Schumi
