There are some rumors doing the rounds that SD may be replaced, and it may happen during the season. There are 2 names being floated - Flavio (please oh please don't let it be him). The other name being floated is Ross baby. Now that would be such a boost for the team. What's more, if there is real potential in the F14-T Ross is just the man to extract it and do that quickly. And of course he would bring a massive improvement to the team pit wall and race strategy. IMO we have been lacking there for quite a while.

.... probably amount to nothing though

I would feel "betrayed" if Ross went to the Scuderia. Next year, I'm okay with it, but this year? I think he's just going to enjoy watching his creation blossom.

Let me tell you if it is Flavio, then you better brace yourself for the litany of crotch pics around here. :hehe:

I will bet my user account on the fact that Ross will not be going to Ferrari this year.

I love these 'rumors'

Lol I just find it funny how people can't let go of the dream of Ross Brawn heading back to Ferrari.

Even though time and time again he's publicly stated he's "never going back to Ferrari" and that he's now retired.

If you were spurned (despite a record breaking track record) for the job you were vying for, only to see a guy achieve that position through nationality... and you left in a huff, would you go back there again? If you could throw away your pride, yes, but Brawn isn't desperate.

If Ferrari are spreading rumours that Ross is coming out if retirement to move to Italy and immerse himself in the 3rd best engine under the close watch of Montezemolo then it could be a good strategy to keep their fans happy with their results and maybe even attract more and become an even more powerful brand. It might even keep Alonso happy if he is dreaming of Ross arriving to turn Ferrari into Merc. Apart from the fact that Ross is not an engineer and could not extract anything from the car, only manage the human resources he finds there like it took 5 years to get Merc winning without a major reg change.
As long as the fans are not questioning the team alls well

Flavio would be a more logical choice and a proven cheat could be the preferred option if they are to challenge again before the next reg change. It would be the cleverest move by Montezemolo yet

I hope Kimi doesn't have to crash for Alonso though

Are you saying Ferrari would prefer to hire a cheat?

Not saying anything, but I just feel Flavio and Ferrari would be a great fit. Like how I thought Alonso and Ferrari always are.

If they have the choice of Dom - who they need to sack, Ross - who is not going to actually turn up, Flavio - who is a proven cheat but available and gets results

Flavio should be the preferred choice out of the 3 in the frame. He did a crime and did his time, he cheated but why should this be held against him if Ferrari are considering him? That would be unfair and stupid. Look what symonds is doing for Williams

So what was the fact that Flavio is a "proven cheat" Brought up?

Maybe it was just a sly dig to annoy the Ferrari fans.

It's a FACT. He is a proven cheat, just like Ross is a retired TP, that's a FACT also

We heard Ferrari are looking at 2 choices - a proven cheat and a retired TP

Why would these facts be ignored when discussing which one is or isn't, or could or couldn't be the preferred choice?

Do we have to ignore the truth now and avoid anything even slightly negative about Ferrari?

I'm not getting this

Do we not respond to the news ferrari are looking at 2 choices? Or do we have to be careful to respond untruthfully but positively? Like saying Ross can extract performance from the car just like that, do we just say 'yeah that's correct'

I don't get it

No one is disputing that he got caught cheating FACT.

You called him a cheat FACT
You then said he has done the crime and done the time FACT

So why bring the FACT he is a cheat up!

You also said a cheat would be Ferrari preferred option FACT

Having a dig at Ferrari?

I was under the impression we could discuss the latest news about Ferrari as they come out. having a dig at Ferrari would be to single them out for ridicule unprovoked, I.e. without new reason, repetitively, gratioutusly
If we respond to new info or the latest item for discussion with our opinion do we have to give a false opinion that is positive if the news isn't?
Are we not allowed to discuss the latest news or point out inaccuracies in the latest news if it's not positive

Edit: I just realised this is the Ferrari support thread, and so I am wrong. Only positive things on here, apologies we had this discussion before. It's not good to remind people Flavs a proven cheat on the support thread if the team looking to employ him

I stand corrected and will move the posts elsewhere

Do you not see a certain irony in Ferrari making a choice between a guy who would never come back in a month of sundays and a guy who has been done for cheating? You don't think when discussing the choice of Ross and Flavio that it would be strange if these facts are not used?

How about this - I will bet you any amount you choose that the first media report of this decision (if even true) by Ferrari to consider Flavio and Ross WILL make reference to his past crime. Fair enough? Even on an Italian or Ferrari supporters site. Maybe not on the official a Ferrari website though
