I was at Silverstone watching that race. Most people were disgusted that he cheated that win.

You were there, wow that must of been one experience seeing a win like that (even though you didn't like the outcome). You must of been really young at the GP back then or maybe your just a lot older than me but then again you don't look it. Me that was 10 years ago so I was only 13.

I was in the pit straight grandstand. Actually the very end of the race was wierd because for a while no-one knew who had won! I am older than you AKR.....but thanks for the compliment

I got completely and utterly over excited when Jenson Button won his first race

I also remember in the 1996 season (I was 15) going to sulk in my room when Hill failed to win the title at Monza (and I think Estoril too) but being noisy and hyperactive and probably crying when he won it in Suzuka. I seem to recall screaming YESSSSSS! when I saw JV going out, waking the rest of the household.

Happy days.

I was at the 98 British Grand Prix too, all I remember is how terrible the weather was (I seem to remember watching Villeneuve narrowly avoiding hitting a stray put-up golf umbrella) and that we were standing next to a really loud quite obnoxious family who were supporting Hakkinen (I am pretty ambivolent to the guy myself) and who were quite yobbish in victory and we had all thought he won, their faces when they heard the GERMAN national anthem being played was a picture!

for me, nurburgring 1999 when luca badoer was forced to retire while in the points, in a minardi. i felt for him when he was in tears being taken from his car.

back in 2000 i watched a TV recording of the 1987 Hockenheim GP my dad taped, after watching alain prost withdraw from the lead and retire he just sat in the grass next to his car thinking, then his teamate johansson retiring from the lead with a blown tyre just half a lap from the finish.

Kid's stuff ! Yes I have heard the BRM V16 but only in video's as I did not start watching F1 until the late '70's.

The Ferrari V12 still imho has it beat by pure sound due to it's higher rpm.
