I know this could cause howls of protest but I am hearing some ever louder whispers from the inside on a Trans Atlantic GP series.
The basics seem to be UK/USA/Canadian based teams, maximum of 4 cars per team, no Bernie, no (or very little) technical controls. A mix of ovals and circuts but no street races. Backers seem to be oil company driven at present.
Interested in your thoughts especialy from the USA and Canada.

Sounds to me somebody's coming up with a new version of Champ Car since its merger with IRL. There's still plenty of those Panoz DP01's knocking around and some still half developed which were intended for this year.

You're right there, they should use those Panoz DP01's, what a waste of production if they are left idle.
And they said A1 Gp would rival F1... so I dunno if this series would ever do that

It never will, the cars barely get near 300kph, F1 cars from the late 70's could go faster than A1GP cars.

That doesn't sound good, Champ Car went to some good street circuits such as the legendary Long Beach. Ovals are boring, I bet some of the Champ Car drivers such as Justin Wilson who have gone over to IRL probably think the same too.

Not what I'm hearing. More along the lines of current (ish) F1 constuctors regs with factory or customer engines on a team built chassis. The whisper is that a couple of the manufacturers and at least 2 UK based teams are looking seriously at it.
