Let's hope any apple/Ferrari joint products work as well as their power units to make sure each brand doesn't suffer from any association. I can't imagine the new iPhone 6 released with a raft of exciting features only for users to find out they are gonna have to 'unlock' those 'potential' features over the year
Can't see what Apple can add to Ferrari beyond just money. Ferrari need to be partnering with those that can add value to their on track ambitions

I can't imagine Apple entering F1, it doesn't fit with their branding position. If they did I would see them linking up with Mercedes over Ferrari.

But they would be of more use to Ferrari in terms of technical partnership with Ferrari than the Malboro man.

The Ferrari thread seems a little quiet of late.
Good to see Kimi slotting neatly into the second driver role, although its not certain if he thrives in this role or produces more when he is the clear number 1 like he was at Lotus

And Alonso reckons the team should be more clever, hmmn

It would be a disaster if RBR have somehow come from the back in testing to beat a manufacturer in a dry race at the circuit many many laps were completed in testing

I expect to see Alonso and Kimi ahead of the Red Bulls this weekend

Yeah, this could be Ferrari's chance to get their best result this season (3rd and 4th) since Renault are still crippled on power and this being a power circuit.

A question. Follows on from the above but not really related to Ferrari, except indirectly.

Now that the engines are frozen (or that homo------------- word that means frozen) how can Renault and Ferrari catch up on power?

Homologated :)

It means they can change their engines within specific guidelines as much as they want, they just have to submit the changed engine to the FiA. I believe they only have to show that it is for safety of cost saving purposes and changes are allowed. All three engine manufacturers had applied to the FiA for changes within weeks of the initial homologation date.

Oh. So they'll surely all say that it's on safety grounds that they have to copy the Merc engine won't they?

I don't think so.

That change (the turbo portion) would neither be safer nor less costly.

I doubt they'd want to copy it.

But it would make them go faster.

Only if they understood how to build the engine that way.

I very much doubt that.

I think Ferrari need to sort out the electronic suppression on there cars. Everytime they hit the not so loud anymore pedal the camera picture shows black dots.

Saw that too... saw in last race but it was raining so I figured rain drops? Here I'm thinking sand? Glad you noticed it, I thought I was seeing things. Hadn't noticed it was only on throttle though. We'll see tomorrow.
