How come it's only RBR that has fuel flow sensor that break? Apparently it "broke" again on Ricciardo's car. They must have gotten ALL the faulty sensors in the lot.

It was suggested on Sky TV's coverage that it could be related to the fuel; all the failures have come on Renault powered cars; which all use Total fuel!

Well Renault powered cars are having to push the boundaries to stay competitive. Ferrari and Mercedes cars have the luxury of holding extra power over their Renault counterparts and don't need to push as hard thus their sensors give or take are fine.

I'm not sure that would be the problem, the sensors are callibrated to the specific fuel. In the commentary last week it was said that RB were claiming the readings were drifting and I can't see how that would happen due to the fuel unless the consistency of the fuel flowing through the meter varied over time.

Renault have Montezemolo pushing for the fuel flow restriction to be scrapped, so they may not have to worry about having a disadvantage to Merc and Ferrari for much longer

There would still be the 100Kg/race limit though.

Turns out Rosberg hurt his toe(translated by Google).

Current leader of the World Championship Formula 1 Nico Rosberg told injuring a toe of the left foot this week, on the edge of the Bahrain Grand Prix, the third race of the season. "I hurt my performing jogging on the beach," revealed the Mercedes driver to German newspaper Bild. "This happened during my vacation next Dubai." The recent winner of the Australian Grand Prix, however, denied any problem braking with the left foot during the weekend. The interested party has finished second in the first two free practice sessions in Bahrain postponed to two, then three tenths of his teammate Lewis Hamilton.

Let's face it how much cheaper would it of been to just say "100L fuel tank" instead of all this other rubbish

^:clap: why do they love to complicate things? Why bring this extra rule about how fast the petrol squirts in anyway? If they squirt too fast they run out of fuel.

It's about the fact they run unrestricted turbos: if the fuel flow rate were to be unrestricted, the teams could have turbo bursts in the ballpark of 2000hp, which in the eyes of the FIA would create a huge speed differential between cars that would be too dangerous.

But if they did that surely they run out of fuel? Isn't the fuel limit self regulating on that?
