Yes  like that!

It's a good thing he's not as good at reading races, managing tires, managing fuel and having good race pace. Otherwise he might stand a chance of winning the championship this year. :hehe:

I don’t think any race is ever easy. Obviously there are opportunities that are presented in front of you and obviously you have to take them with both hands and today that’s what I did but no, looking after the car, looking after fuel, not making any mistakes, it was a massive challenge in that sense. The time... I would hear that Nico had stepped up the speed, reacting to those things without damaging your tyres, so without doubt it was still a great challenge, but one that I was able to do well because the car was spectacular this weekend, so really really happy with just a great performance by the team.

I could only see that I was on top of everything. I was working so much harder than in the past, and of course it helped that I had one year with the team under my belt to know how we best work together - and what I can pull from every individual to achieve the maximum. What is - and was - the most important thing is that I feel really comfortable in this car. Remember, last season I sometimes said that I felt uncomfortable in the car - but that is all history. Considering that I had one win and some good results in 2013 in a car that didn’t suit me perfectly, I am very much looking forward to how this season progresses.

Here are the top speed numbers from the race

The amazing thing is that in every single sector Lewis' top speed was less than Nicos and the other Merc drivers in sector 1, away from the straights in sector 2, his speed was lower than Sebs also.
Therefore Lewis was driving supersmart, gaining time in the corners and everywhere except max throttle points. So Nico was on the throttle more on the straights, yet Lewis used less fuel meaning he was doing some clever stuff in the slower sectors to save fuel

Very impressive for a 'non thinker'

I'm late to the party, but it was riveting cheering for #44 live today. Loved it, the guy was in a world of his own in qualifying and in the race simply untouchable.

The first 1-2 for Mercedes, the first win for Hamilton in Msia...H278 had to be there for it to happen. :D:D:D

Huge congrats to Lewis he made my weekend brilliant! :drink::drink::drink:

Well done Hamms, top supporting

The big question to work out is which GP will he clinch the title at this year so we can book early and get some good deals :hehe:

It is a delight to watch Hamilton at the wheel in this commanding form. He is simply the fastest man on the planet. As the paddock was being dismantled — next stop Bahrain on Sunday — he summed up his approach to racing.

He said: ‘My trainer was saying in the last few years, “If people could see that you’re always in bed early. Nobody sees that, and they say you’re less focused. And they say Sebastian (Vettel|) is more focused just because he’s getting results.”

‘I’m giving it everything. I’m only thinking about the championship. I’m thinking about winning. I’m living and breathing it, as I do every year.

‘In my driving style, I’m more mature. I’m starting to see the benefits of the mistakes, and the things I’ve said, or the things I’ve done, and I even noticed it today. I am more calculating in the race.’

Rosberg still leads the championship table. In fact, he can follow Hamilton home in the next two races and still lead the table. No wonder Rosberg seemed reasonably unperturbed afterwards. His confidence, apparently at an all-time high prior to the race, is far from being shot.

It is the contention here that the best seasons are shaped by a straight rivalry between team-mates. Think Mansell-Piquet, Prost-Senna, Alonso-Hamilton. Fireworks abounded. Are we in for a repeat treat?

Button’s thoughts are instructive. Even he, the most balanced of drivers, had the odd moment of friction with Rubens Barrichello’s side of the garage in his championship year of 2009.

‘It matters who the individuals are,’ he said. ‘Nico and Lewis are close as friends but one has won a world championship and the other hasn’t, so that might change things a bit between them. Looking at what Lewis did today is going to hurt (Rosberg) a little bit. He was super-fast.’

Why would it hurt Nico?, he isnt a lame duck and understands for the last 10 years that Lewis is fast enough to do anyone damage when he has the tools

Lol Button thinks everyone is like him.

10MPH of Bottas in S1(may be due to DRS usage, Bottas was chasing all race).

S2 4.8 off(roughly).

S3 about 12.8.

Bearing in mind RBR did exactly the same and still won so it's not a massive deal and Merc are still handy on the straights and are probably running more aero.

I'm surprised Hulk isn't higher on there, he held his own again Alonso down the straights even without DRS. Won't go on as it's the Lewis thread.
