I guess you could say that Hamilton wasn't very supportive of his teammate,
regardless of whether he...

... probably flew back to his Roscoe by mid race distance lol

or even if he was...

...already training on the simulator for Malaysia.

That's not nice!!

It's way nicer than whining to your team to get your teammate out of the way and saying "this is ridiculousssssss" while not having the b@lls to try and overtake.

You know that do you? That Hamilton wasn't very supportive of his team mate? That flies in the face of all the evidence of how these two work together. This is what Lewis actually said when Nico won.

‘‘We have a great car and engine, and the pace was really strong today as Nico clearly showed,’’ Hamilton said. ‘‘Big congratulations to him and the team for achieving the win, it’s a fantastic result for us.

‘‘Of course I'm disappointed with my own race and when I think about all the work that has gone on back at our factories, it’s tough to have a costly hiccup.’’

[spankyham]

I've heard Nando on more than one occasion, when reflecting on some bad luck he may have experienced, always says that over the course of a season, these things tend to even out. Here's hoping for Lewis's and the team's sake that Lewis has gotten his bit of bad luck for this year out of the way early and it will be smooth sailing for him for the rest of the year so we can enjoy watching him race his car (well at least for laps he doesn't have to conserve fuel and tires)

If Merc maintain their massive advantage over the rest and Lewis maintains his quali advantage over Nico, then even if Lewis has a few dnfs, the large amount of points for a win puts things in his favour.

For example if Lewis wins every race with Nico second that would be a 160 point advantage over the whole season. As long as Lewis focuses on getting the job done every weekend this is actually a situation where luck is less important than it has ever been for him.

After the race the Sky blokes (Damon, Johnnie Herbert & Si..ugh ) were talking to Paddy Lowe & Toto Wolff outside the Merc garage. They discussed Lewis' engine problem & PL said they knew about it from the start, but hoped it would clear. Then Damon said....You'd better look after his car a bit more, he repeated this & said fix that engine...

Lewis took the 100th pole for Merc
Nico took the 100th win for a Merc engine in F1

After the race Mercedes dedicated the win to Michael Schumacher

Nico has had much more running time in the new car...in testing, practice & now a full race in changing conditions....
I know this has nothing to do with the result on Sunday, but I'm sure Lewis will be onitt

Agree Ang, however I dont think the difference in time spent on track makes that much difference. Each track has to be practiced, however general acquaintance with the car has been done by both and many extra laps of 1 track wont make much of a difference to these guys. It didnt affect Lewis for quali for example. The key to this season is quali. Start the race in front and dictate the pace and hence the fuel usage etc (not that Merc apparently need to worry about fuel usage much anyway)

Last time we had major rule changes the guys at Brackley got it spot on with a massive advantage. They have done it again only difference now is they have backing to keep up the development through the season. So i see another 1988 on the cards here.

Lewis has said in the past..that he wouldn't want an advantage like Seb had....
I took that as meaning that he likes to fight for a win ...should be some good battles between Lewis & Nico...can't wait for the next race...

Wasn't that the year that Prost got most points in the WDC but Senna was crowned the winner because of the convoluted scoring system? Prost was actually more than a full race win on points I believe.

Please don't misunderstand what I said. Hamilton wasn't there to take pictures for Rosberg's/Mercedes'
first win of a season which they are expected to dominate. Both Hammer and WB suggested reasons why
he wasn't present and I opined that regardless, it wasn't nice he wasn't there. Being there, smiling for the
cameras, would have been showing support. It's not like he would have had anything "planned" ahead of
time, since he would have expected to be racing, right?

NOTHING sinister about my comment, NOTHING snide intended; just showing disappointment.

[What's Burning?]

It's a shame Brawn couldn't be there on the Pit wall. Even symbolically, it would have been nice since this is HIS team, if not in name certainly in legacy. It's clear that he has a lot of confidence in the W05.

It was the year there was a massively dominant car yet there was still an interesting title fight for the fans to watch. Something that tifosi know not of.

That's the thing Sagi, you say things that tend to be over and over taken the wrong way, so either it's you being coy or everyone else being overly sensitive. This would be okay, but then the minute anyone speaks a shred of denigration about anything painted red you jump in the same fashion as you accuse others of doing with your posts.

It is a vicious cycle, and you and cookin' have to stop it, it's getting old and tired now.

Points system wasnt convoluted at all, it merely counted a drivers best x races out of x+2, allowing 2 'free' dnfs etc. Both drivers knew the rules, both drivers knew that higher places in fewer races were more important than lower places in all races.

Senna got higher points over the races that counted, Prost got more points in races that didnt matter as they would not be counted

I thin Bud means 1988 as in McLaren winning every single race bar one
