Cars could be a lot lot faster around corners with ground effect, but they had to ban that because the G-forces were so great drivers were close to blacking out. F1 has never been about outright speed, it's just being faster than everyone else.

We could have unrestricted turbos with fans and skirts plus active suspension.

That would be quick but there would be no overtaking just drag races between rail like corners

and Luca would complain that Ferraris strength was sports cars that can drive fast on road circuits and not a microprocessor formula or drag race

I am all about car failing, but jesus, not even making it half a dozen laps before they do is ridiculous.

It takes me back to the early 2000s, 90s etc. Many cars would fail to finish due to mechanical issue before half a dozen laps had been completed!

This is the first race after a major revamp. I remember engines blowing up during the V10 era in the first 2-3 laps.....no one was complaining then.

Oh wait, maybe the V12 enthusiasts were crying about it.....but anyway, let's give these guys some time to adjust. I think they've done a fine job adapting to very challenging regulations so far. Renault almost made a mockery of themselves but managed to dig themselves out pretty well I must admit.

After a crazy whirlwind on Sunday, I'm finally getting the chance to add my two cents:

Great race!! In spite of getting up at 2:00 a.m., it didn't take long to be wide awake!!

Great race by Rosberg, too bad about Hamilton. Here's hoping when they're in a race together,
we see some more great driving, since one car driving off into the sunset really isn't as great as
it would be even better to have some competition, at the front.

Unashamedly, I will admit that it would be even better having Alonso/Kimi up there, too!! :D

Alonso and Raikkonen: Greatest driver pairing at the moment, expecting MUCH more from them, SOON!!

Ricciardo: Feel really badly for him!! Unfortunately, the rules are rules are rules, regardless of
whether we like them or not. Also, I sincerely hope the announcers learn how to say his name!!

Magnussen: WoW!! What more can I say? He had a great race in not so great car (in testing)!!

Bottas: Will prove to be the better driver in the Williams! Had a great race and loved watching
him move up the order, more than once!! Bravo!!

By the way, what I loved MOST about Magnussen and Bottas was the LACK of hype around their
""greatness""!!

Kobyashi and Massa: Surprise? Nope!

Fuel: Really do NOT like this conserving rule, simply because it would seem the drivers needed
to hold back. Sure, it's the same for everyone; but, so are death and taxes. Doesn't mean we
have to like them!

And, there you have it, from one of the
...plethora of female I love Kimi/Alonso types who admit they are new to F1 yet are happy to get stuck in arguing the finer points of everything in favour of Ferrari

This is the typical Ferrari supporter and gives the knowledgeable ones a bad rep

By the way, I don't have to be mechanically inclined to appreciate F1, albeit
at a different level. Also, I don't have to be able to Google facts and figures
to my liking in order to appreciate F1 racing. For me, it's about the people
and the emotions. You go ahead and love all the mechanical facts/figures
that support your own opinions and leave me along to love F1 my way.

That being said, I have to admit that I was initially fascinated with just how much
F1 knowledge you have; however, your OPINION has lost its lustre, for me because
you are not able to resist consistently taking swipes at anything you don't agree
with/support and then offending anyone who doesn't agree with you.

And, that's NOT a statistic, that's just a fact!! :wavey:

Yes Raikkonen drove like a real champ.

Finally, people are seeing what Bottas showed in lower formula; the future world champion that he is!

Actually you dont count as one of the plethora as I suspect you wouldnt claim Alonso got 12 points and Lewis zero points because of the difference in the way they 'looked after' their cars
Right?

Perhaps, but the scuderia seems to have picked up exactly where they left off last season. I'm hoping for a strong Ferrari as well, to spice up the competition.

No hype?? Have you kept point with the internet sites over the last few months? Magnussen does deliver the goods, and Bottas has been a favorite of those in the know for quite some time. Ask Lemon.

Kobyashi and Massa: Surprise? Nope!

You're not surprised perhaps because your mind was made up, but Kobayashi's accident was due to (documented by telemetry) brake failure, not for any preconceived notion you may have about his driving performance. Maybe if it had been Alonso or Kimi you would have reacted differently eh?

Vettel lost his record, to kvyat. youngest points scorer. Now watch all his other records be smashed. Very quickly.

For that to happen we need that PU working properly from now on please...
