Sounds like he has been dqed and RBR are appealing. It would make sense of RBRs sudden renaissance - if they have been able to use an unrestricted amount of fuel to get their maximum power.

So maybe when Renault said 'we fixed it, the teams can now use max power' they forgot to say 'we havent fixed more than 70% power for the permitted fuel flow yet'

Maybe Sebs RBR was legal and Dans not with RBR trying their luck

I just cant see how anyone can get away with a breach like this, after other teams went to great expense to build cars using only a permitted amount of fuel.

Agree, especially considering it probably gave Ricciardo a performance advantage and probably helped him finish ahead of Magnussen, Button and Alonso who were all within 10 seconds of Daniel.

Gutted for him, but the rules are the rules unfortunately!

The FIA might also want to take a look at the STRs. Apart from the 2 STrs and Riccs RBR, all the other Renault powered cars performed exactly like testing has suggested all along.

Suddenly the 2 cars of RBRs sister team plus the RBR driver who they can afford to run foul of the FIA are suddenly able to fly :scratchchin:

And in the interests of fair play I am willing to speculate about Merc similarly hedging bets with a circumvention of the fuel flow rules, maybe after Monte complained, those using the trick decided to hedge their bets and not risk the wrath of the FIA by having both cars 'making the same mistake'
The Mec one is near impossible given their massive advantage, in fact they apparently voluntarily lowered the max fuel flow rate at a performance cost of half a second.
Before the usual moaners start moaning - this is what F1 is about, reading between the lines

I sincerely hope he does not have to endure the negative comments many people levelled at Seb because the RB9-6 was superior.

Don't know how you can premptively say this Spanky. There are a laundry list of reasons why Seb had to endure what he did, none of which Mercedes nor Nico have a history of, let alone a precedence for. One thing Nico does have that Vettel didn't, is a very competitive team mate in an equal car.

About the race, I'm glad that there was racing, I think there was plenty of racing going on give that this track is notoriously one of the most fuel hungry circuits. I'm sure the SC helped but glad to see that the tough challenge was met.

Ricciardo drove a great race but RB does deserve the DSQ, it's clear that this year, a Mercedes power plant is the integral key to success.

Congratulations to Nico, Mag, Hulkenberg, Bottas, fantastic drive boys. Ferrari might have as well kept Massa given Kimmi's performance.

Or a works Ferrari if they sort their electrical issues, I thought Alonso did a very good job and was fairly competitive - he lost time behind Hulkenburg (probably couldnt overtake due to lost power caused by the electrics issue) and got undercut by Button, other than that he matched everyone bar Rosberg on pace.

Odly enough, button said, they have updates to hopefully challenge the Mercedes and... and.... the Williams. So the Williams is still a competitor.

Also, what was with Ferrari?

Electrical issues so they were a bit down on power im sure Ted Kravitz reported. Might explain why Alonso couldnt pass Hulkenburg although after the stops he matched Ricciardo and the McLarens on pace.

You trust anything Ted says, he said that since the engines had direct injection they don't have spark plugs.

Really? Wow... that's, well that's sad for an F1 commentator.

He's probably one of my least favourite f1 reporters. He always sounds like an idiot.

I think it's moronic that we do not have a decision about Ricciardo after bloody 5 hours. If it's so clear cut shouldn't it be announced on the spot? Freakin amateurs.

The good - Merc look to have a rocket ship
The bad - The Gremlins been in Lewis's car since day one of the first test
The ugly - Seb whining like a bitch to his team, Ricciardo getting his 2nd place taken away :(
