@Cookin maybe it's time to be a bit smarter and just respond to posts which are worth it from now on mate, seriously.

For 8 years Lewis has had representation and support at every level. Biased mainstream media is what it is, however at the unregulated social level, detractors and ABH factions must be educated about unknowingly propagating bigotry. From 'he can't manage tyres' to 'he is just a dumb speed merchant' to 'he can't handle the intelectual stuff (of turning a knob)' those too thick to realise that they are carrying out the mandate of the status quo and that the biggest threat to the status quo is the ability of the resistance to 'unplug' dumbasses by spreading the truth

To cut a long story short this is about more than F1, it's the frontline of the struggle between the blue blood status quo and it's matrix style dumbass opiated soldiers and the rising enlightened resistance.

Like some of those who initially appreciated Julian Assanges info and now think of him in a negative way can at least step back and see how the status quo has played them and used all its tricks on them, yet the dumbasses will be on forums attacking and propagating without even realise what they are doing

Cookin' take a chill pill mate, the season has not even started yet. I have said many times that I supported Lewis in his first year and knew about him before, I thought he was incredible, I loved his driving and the way he spoke to the media. Then when things didn't go quite to form he started complaining, I started to dislike him but could still see he was an incredible driver. See I say Lewis Hamilton is an incredible driver! I have always liked Jenson, is he better than Lewis, no, is he maybe more fun than Lewis, probably. I also like Kimmi and adored JPM. I have supported MacLaren, since the 80's, and will continue to do so.

For what it's worth, I live in Singapore so I don't see any mainstream rags.

GO LEWIS!! (It is the support thread)

And in 10, 9, 8 ..... we will have Cookin' here telling me I am wrong 8-)

McNish on Lewis
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/26489825

First half is vaguely interesting before he starts going into the psycho analysis

You're either born with talent or you're not.
I remember watching Hamilton in a Pro-Am karting event when he would have been eight or nine years old. He simply stood out from the rest. Why? Because he knew how to race.

He was just quicker than anyone else. There were other kids there who were racing karts but he was different because he knew exactly what he was doing.
Every turn of the wheel was instinctive. He didn't have anyone telling him what lines to take or how to approach the race in terms of strategy. He would just go out and do it.
His career followed a familiar pattern. He would enter a racing series, spend the first season learning, then dominate the championship the following year to win the title.
He repeated that all the way into Formula 1. In 2007, when he made his debut for McLaren, he seized his chance. He was fresh, confident and could absorb pressure.
He proved more than a match for team-mate Fernando Alonso, the reigning double world champion, and came close to winning the title.
In the end he lost out to Kimi Raikkonen by a single point.

Attitude

Hamilton never gives up. He is like a British bulldog, always getting stuck in.
I remember when I saw him compete in his second Monaco Grand Prix in 2008. He was caught out by the tricky conditions and tapped the barrier coming out of Tabac corner.

He suffered a puncture as a result and everyone thought that was his race over. But he came into the pits, changed tyres and got straight back on the attack, winning the race from Robert Kubica in the BMW Sauber.
It is that ability to salvage a lost cause that makes him different. He wants to win and feels that nothing is ever impossible.
I don't think there is a driver on the grid who is faster over one lap. He carries a lot more speed into corners than other drivers.
Sometimes, it looks like he is going to have an accident, that he's overdriving and on the very edge of control, but that is his style, that's his comfort zone.

I know Lewis is quick and in his Karting days was unbeatable, he is the new messiah, he walks on water. What I don't get is that if you are so sure of Lewis and his god like abilities, why do you demean other drivers and more importantly the supporters of other drivers? Could you drive an F1 car, could I? I think not. We are supporters of the same thing and happen to disagree on the finer points.
I thought a forum was for ALL to talk not one to talk down he who disagreed with, a forum, discussion.

GO LEWIS!!

Sorry, aren't you the one who stated more than once that you're leaving this forum and never coming back?

To be fair, I dont post a lot on here, but I read a lot, and I think Cookin puts good, well thought out posts, and I rarely (If ever) see him flaming a driver/poster, if anything it is normally someone else that attacks his post, and he defends his posts well.

Ok, here's one to incense the 'Lewis fans' ( some people seem intent on lumping all admirers of Mr. Hamilton under that umbrella with decidedly negative connotations attached). And I believe the article may delight the hearts of some Lewis detractors.

Whilst the writer makes some good points, what angered me most was his portrayal of Lewis as a very fast driver who is lacking intelligence and unable to think through a race.......this despite multiple examples of him doing just that.

His comparison with Vettel also grates. Vettel calm in cockpit, rounded and mature. Really? Has he been watching the same F1 series as me? And Hamilton angry and frustrated? In my view, Lewis asks for the information he needs when he needs it and asks not to be disturbed during cornering......as does Kimi.

And finally, he hasn't grown up and Nicole will wreck his career. What poor journalism!

Well that's my view. Be happy to hear other views from all spectrums of views on Hamilton from his admirers to those who've 'gone off ' him.

He appears to be taking the popular view of Hamilton as flighty and trying to find evidence to back it up, ignoring anything that contradicts that view and then blaming external factors anyway.

We're fed so much info nowadays, off and on track, you could concoct any story.

What's sad is when fans who actually watch races buy into the generalisations just because it's offered to them in a simple idiot friendly format. Then it gets offensive when those same fans are on free speech forums telling everyone 'not to speculate and not to think for themselves' and not to point things out and instead wait to be told what's happening by the media.

Or that there is nothing wrong at whatever team and not to discuss until told to by mainstream media

A lot of heads will be exploding this season. a little anecdotal info... Why is it that every Lewis hater claims one or both of the following; they used to love the guy or they only dislike the way his fans idolize him.
#394284
I think thats the essence of the ism shymism. ' I dont like [insert generalisation] - because of [insert justification] - its not an irrational bias, really it isnt'

or 'I have nothing against [insert generalisation], its just that [insert justification], therefore I now have everything against every [generalisation]

theres gonna be some serious butt hurt when a dumb street kid whips a bunch of highly intelligent engineering Phd drivers by turning knobs faster and braking later (and having the best car)

I never got why people say Lewis or any driver can't think ahead in a race. When they're not trying to pass or defend there's very else to think about other than your strategy, the driving part is mostly instinctive.
#394324
A lot of these naysayers are just riding on Lewis' career low points in 2011 when he made contact with a car in 2-3 straight race weekends, his 1 wrong tweet of McLaren data in Spa, and the famous

"maybe because I'm black"

Thanks to that he's a dumb idiot who can't think, loads of talent but no brains and that's why his teammate is going to smash him to pieces last year (since Lewis isn't smart enough to adapt quickly to a new car), why Button will smash him to pieces in 2012 (since Lewis is too dumb to take care of tyres vs his Tyremaster Teammate), why Rosberg will smash him to pieces this year (since Lewis will ignore team orders and run out of fuel every race).

Best to let him do the talking on track and imagine the haters writhing in pain inside knowing all their expert predictions have been torn to shreds yet again.

Again I never got the people who couldn't see that was a joke. The laughing at the end of the statement was a slight indicator.

Because those people probably read it in the Daily Mail. ;)

I'd have to slightly disagree there. IMO Lewis was being half hearted in that statement, probably did feel he was being picked on for a reason. I think he felt he was forced to pull the race card to gain some leverage and put the spotlight on the stewards a little more from that point onwards. Pretty much every incident he was involved in ended up being his fault.

His very next incident happened in India with Massa (again) and Massa was ruled guilty with a drive through. Who's to say if he didn't pull the race card, Massa would've gotten away scot free again.

Not saying I agree with what Lewis did but can see why he felt he needed to make that statement. Let's not forget he's had racial abuse through the lower ranks since he was a toddler and finally on the big stage, and feeling picked on yet again when most of his accidents could be classed as racing incidents at best.
