Whilst I never saw Senna race, I have read of the incidents involving him and Prost. Schumacher also did that kind of thing. The only difference is that Alonso didn't actually deliberately crash his car into Hamilton at any point last year. I don't think Senna or Schumacher would have tried to blackmail their team, but I don't think it is that which cause the kind of distraction that ultimately saw Alonso lose the championship.

But he did take himself and Prost out of the Japanese GP in 1990, did he not? Whether they were in the same team or not, it's the same kind of action.

the qestion 8-ball posed was if Senna were in Alonso's shoes.

being in a different team has nothing to do with that question so doesnt need to be used as evidence so to speak

man ive said my piece a thousand times on the Senna Prost incidence's of 89 and 90 at Suzuka honestly cant be bothered saying it again.

totally different situation 8ball is asking what Senna would do in Alonso's shoes. for if you want to use a mentality alone then that could be said for many different rivalries in the past
besides you use the word ruin anothers chances where does this apply for the lewis alonso rivalry?

and please dont make me have to rehash the senna prost incident and why Senna did what he didl...

ive been on this forum long enough but back in time somewhere on here is my thoughts on the matter by all means look it up.

Winning at all costs is the mentality, and it doesn't matter whether it's your team-mate you're taking out or a driver from a rival team. If the people who had done the latter wanted to win that much and had a team-mate that was threatening their status, I'm willing to bet they'd give it some thought.

And when I say ruin someone's chances, I mean make it so that their championship is under threat and that, because of your actions, they may lose it.

And an even more intriguing question... Since when is LEWIS (in his 1st season) comparable to SENNA (then on his 5th season) ??

Everyone knew, including Prost that Senna had it to challenge for WDC from the very beggining. Neither were playing for a 'home team'... and well, maybe Dennis loved Senna, and Prost maybe got some loving form being 2x WDC and getting some support from Ballestre... but still they were both in pretty much common ground...

Well, from the numerous comparisons between the Senna vs Prost feud to Lewis vs Alonso on this very thread. The situations are very different, and because the situation and the players were so so different, then the players' behaviours is not really comparable. Basically, I don't think Prost vs Senna should be brought out to discuss Lewis vs Alonso

It's not so much the people as the mindset. In order to win a championship, Senna took Prost out. Schumacher tried to do the same thing with Villeneuve, but failed. Alonso tried to give himself an advantage over Lewis by impeding him in qualifying. Not quite the extent of the others, but it's the same mindset. The same mentality.
