It raises an issue. These cameras are everywhere on the slopes these days.

Hence, the warning labels on the cameras... from now on.

Of course, where Schumi "probably" doesn't need the money from a lawsuit,
there may be some unfortunate soul elsewhere for whom this will be a Godsend.

Two points. First, the investigation determined the camera was NOT a contributing factor in the helmet deconstruction. Second, there was an interesting article in a Canadian publication where 2 specialists were asked to comment on Schumacher's situation. A positive view stated that it may take as long as a year to safely bring MS back to full consciousness, but it can be done successfully. A second less optimistic opinion expressed concern that when the process takes as long as it has, the prognosis is not good. Sorry, no link for either article.

Does it matter? It was a freak accident and sometimes accidents just happen, it's the uncertainty of life. Might as well question whether they got him to a hospital quickly enough or whether the bindings were too tight and didn't release and therefore flipped him over allowing him to land on his head.

That's the thing about speculation, in this instance it's useless. The guy is in a coma and the prognosis hasn't been good and there's no explanation or reason for it other than a freak accident.

Michael Schumacher is high profile, so the investigations into the cause of the accident will be reported across the world. It may just be just 'one of those things' , they happen, but there could be a reason, and if his misfortune can help prevent it happening to others, then I'm sure Michael himself would welcome the investigation. I've not read the result of the helmet cam investigation. If it's nothing, so be it, if they highlight an issue with the cameras, well that's all for the good of everyone.

I agree. I read (as I stated earlier)that the results of the investigation indicated that the helmet-cam was not a contributing factor to Michael's injuries. I assume that the investigation was thorough and I accept the results. As we know, helmets are made of different plastics some of which are extremely susceptible to damage from such seemingly benign things as paint or adhesives. It appears that in Michael's accident the helmet did what it was designed to do, and the camera was not a factor.

...I also like that his Ferrari family are still around him.

Thanks for sharing that article!!

Like you, I think it's great that Schumi is surrounded by family and friends who are like family!!
Best of all, they are all doing everything they can to do what's best for him and not giving up!!
