How conflicted will you feel if Merc win the championships with a 2 second advantage car, after all the stuff you said about RBR and Vettel in Singapore and beyond?

As long as Rosberg is not treated like Webber or Massa were, then Lewis and Nico will fight for the title. But it would be better if a Ferrari were just behind, say by 0.5 seconds, then Alonso and Kimi can join in
It would cheapen it a little if someone like Massa or Button became a contender above the Ferrari guys, mag and bo77as would be acceptable as they are new and unknowns.

I'll just parrot what the Vettel fans have been saying all along about their diety, it's obviously Hamilton's god like driving skills and has nothing to do with the two second advantage.

Oh, thats a relief - looked ominous when it was mentioned as old softs!

Actually I'm looking for an image and post I saw elsewhere which claimed Fernando's fastest lap was set on old unmarked tires. Unverified, but if it was on unmarked tires then that would be the Pirelli experimental tire which I believe was either a medium or hard.

It wasnt the supersoft, Pirelli confirmed it was softs. The have to have the correct info according to the regs. There has been a mix up with language when it comes to softs, mediums and s softs. With the Germans having given that imperssion a few times already.

Also that tweet above is timed at 11.17 pm 3rd March, thats in the future :hehe:

Lost in translation, or sandbagging.

here is what Lewis said
"There's a lot more to come," insisted Hamilton. "I did two runs on the supersofts - the first run was not very good, part of the lap was okay but there were a few mistakes, and then the second run was terrible. But that's just part and parcel of trying to learn how to extract the most from those tyres and now that I know there's a whole heap more grip to come from those tyres I'll set up the car better to extract it."

His 2 ss runs were both abandoned. The fast time was done on the used softs before he came in to change. He then set the fastest first sector before bailing out

Ok.. Going to put this entire "which tyres he used" argument to bed.
Hamilton set his fastest time today on SOFTS. He had 2 sets of Supersofts available at the end, and on both attempts didn't get it right. Source AMuS

In the comment section then Pirelli's data over the 4 days were shared.

Scroll all the way down.

He had soft tyres on which made the fastest run, and then went out on super softs (new ones) on runs which were then aborted after setting an even faster time on S1.

I really don't get what's there to be confused about.

Btw sorry to disappoint some people. :hehe:

There's another rumour that Alonso might have set that laptime with just his rims. No tyres that time, but I'll try n dig that up.

Just having some fun with ya spanks. Your optimism is genuinely endearing.

Ferrari definitely have more 1 lap pace to come, so have Merc. I think we have seen it from the rest.

Q3 will be when we find out for sure.

At least spanks should be happy that either of those teams should get a faster quali time than last year

Well I do hope Ferrari are in a position to challenge for podiums at least....it'll be like poetic justice to be witnessing the two star drivers who've been floundering around the past four years while a nerdy kid was duckling up all the glory with a dominant machine, finally fighting it out up front while the kid now tries to keep his toy from catching fire. :hehe:
