A snowboarder hit a tree and died, at Blue Mountain Resort (my home resort) yesterday. I probably should have skied a little more carefully today, slower and farther from the trees. I didn't, but I skied with a heavy heart. :(

I first heard about that this morning, at the gym!!
Wonndered how close you were to that area!!
First reports where that he may have been off the
groomed hills; but, he was wearing a helmet...
Shades of Schumi, eh?

Lots of speculation.
I found out this morning, when I saw that run (one of my favs) was closed. Reports were that he was skiing between the runs, but from the scene (chair goes right over that run) I think it is more likely he was going fast, lost it and veered into the trees. Countering that theory is that there were no witnesses, and he was not found for several hours after the resort closed. Extenuating circumstances ..... night skiing, and he was an engineering student on reading week, alcohol may have been involved.

So sad when something that's supposed to be fun ends tragically!! :(

I had to make a really heard decision. One that you know whatever you decide you will regret.

Is that to do with your Facebook post regarding a job....?

I work with someone who was a sparky for FOM. He said its the sort of company that once you are in, you are in for life (if you want).

Yeah, he set up the gennys on the Wednesday, and took them down on the Sunday evening - and got pissed on the between days.

He was even a stand in cameraman one weekend at Silverstone. But he gave it up after 1 season as he said his liver couldn't take it. :yikes:

He also says The Midget is as big a *censored* as he comes across on TV.
