Err, yes Ryry I kept thinking that while getting mine...though the ribs will not only hurt but tickle very much at the same time. At some points when he was getting close to the biceps and shoulder blade, the pain had me grinding my teeth.

I hate needles at hospitals/clinics....since the smell of the place and the needle itself going deep in gives me the creeps, but the tattoo needle simply 'grinds' a little bit into your skin rather than sinking deep so I don't mind it.

Oh noes, tickles... I'm very ticklish that's worse than pain! :S

I went with a girl when she had her tattoo done down her side as she didn't want to be semi-naked in front of a tattooist without someone there and she is normally pretty good with pain but she made it quite obvious when it hurt for her the pain was when it was around the same areas you said but also all down the back side of the ribs more so on the lower ribs than the upper ones.

It looked good when he was doing it but shortly after doing the tattoo it looked red, smudged and sore looking but then 2-3 days later it looked really good again.

Needles are pretty far down my list of things I like.

Tattoos are way below needles.

Yep I'm at that red and sore stage right now....the annoying part is having to sleep only my left side since the right (arm & shoulder) will smudge the beddings for the next couple of days.

@Spanks, I hear you....it's either a love/hate thing. Though I've thought about this for a few years now and had this particular image in my head for over a year. This final piece is a result of editing and editing since the middle of January, to me the final result is beautiful and that's very important.

IMO anything permanent done after thinking 6 months and below is dangerous since it's most likely a phase. I've been checking out tat shops and their images for almost a year and settled for this particular one. The guy who drew it is only 22!

My fear goes back to basic military training. The have a novel system for inoculations. Anyway the guy in front of me had an injection, within about 2 second shouted "is my arm supposed to look like that" his arm had gone up like a balloon. A curtain went across 2 seconds later it opened again my mate was gone and the nurse was ready with my injection.

Understandable, but does that mean you'd be scared of getting something as simple as a flu jab which comes in a small needle and is given to millions of people every year with extremely low complications. I've been offered it three times but I refuse to have it because I'm in good health and I never get the flu anyway so I'd rather let my immune system learn the natural way.

I got hospitalised by an Anthrax injection as well but that is a different story

If you get a chance to read a book that will scare you
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aquarium_(Suvorov)

The guy is a bad bottom, and it is amazing how close things get to turning bad in a big way.

I did 17 years, I have lots of stories, some funny, some sad. some stories are easy to tell, some are difficult because the humor or the reasons for why things happen might not be obvious and hard to explain.

The anthrax job that put me in hospital, If anyone remembers in the early 2000's people where sending Anthrax in the post to each other, well I was just about to go out to the Gulf and thought it was a good idea. The 1st jab was fine, a few weeks later was the second jab and that put me in hospital for a week. The closes I can explain it was like if you had swine flu but it took about a a week before I had enough strength to get out of bed and a month before I would return to work.

A snowboarder hit a tree and died, at Blue Mountain Resort (my home resort) yesterday. I probably should have skied a little more carefully today, slower and farther from the trees. I didn't, but I skied with a heavy heart. :(
