I only assess things from evidence, not faith. I have no reason to have 'faith' in Lewis, his driving entertains me and I support him for that.

From the evidence of what I saw during the season, Button needed Hamiltons help to get back up to pace....and Jabber is denying that for what reason I can't entail. McLaren themselves were pretty public about it.....all engineers pouring over the data to see where NoGrip was losing all his grip.

Maybe in the component attached to the steering wheel?

McLaren under the leadership of Button should soundly trounce Lewis and Mercedes next year, any bookie will give you good odds on that. At least according to everything written. I'm liking the new rivalries already though, however if someone perceives success out of keeping Mercedes et al in back instead of gaining on Red Bull and Ferrari, I'd say that priorities are misplaced.

Diva or not, Lewis was the faster driver at McLaren, he probably left because they wouldn't agree to separate out the brown m&m's from the rest of the colors as Lewis demanded. Good riddance some say.

So you're one of those who think it's a given than Button-McLaren will trounce Lewis-Merc?

Sorry man, I know it's easy to look at recent history and think that everything is predictable but things quickly change in F1. 7 years ago Redbull was a defunct Jaguar team, now they're ruling the paddock. Just 17 races ago Mercedes won a race and everyone thought they could be competing for the 2012 Championships.

Mercedes has been working on their 2013 machinery for months now, and Brawn is talking about poles and wins being the target. Combine that with the fact that he's got the fastest driver in the field to work with, and McLaren have a duck who thinks he's a shark, I don't think the odds are too clear cut heading into 2013.

I'm saying let things play out. McLaren is not the same team without Lewis, Mercedes on the other hand will also not be the same team when Lewis is there. Sometimes the bookies are wrong, so I'm going to sit back and enjoy the 2013 season unfold. The rivalry is an added bonus.

Yeah, that's my approach to the season as well. It's impossible to predict anything certain the way things have panned out.

And I'm also of the same mind. We don't know. Lets sit back and enjoy watching it unfold. :D

Best let sleeping dogs lie. There would have been little to discuss this year anyway. I had to come bid adieu to this thread. Thanks for the memories. :wavey:

I couldn't believe a classic of a thread and all this time and we never captured the final tale of the tape. If anyone wants to provide additional stats like overtakes, positions gained etc, I'll gladly add them to the list.
