The thing is, 'Hamilton fans' tend to be fans of brave honest aggressive and spectacularly talented drivers, Hamilton happens to be the latest in a rare category and line going back to Senna, Gilles and beyond. There have been those with glimpses of it but few completely immersed in it. Perez has shown a few splashes of it and is therefore likely to be appreciated more than the lame 'scared to lose the back end' wannabe politickers

I like Perez and I like how he handled himself at at McLaren all alone with his engineer on race day while the whole team were being disturbed by the squealing Button

Perez was booted by a team and had all the class in the world, not a bad word about the team, the decision or the situation. High road all the way, that's not the way a few other F1 drivers I can think of would have handled it.

I would go with Hulkenberg as he is clearly more consistent.

Perez put on a great show in Bahrain and Monaco last year but did little else IMO.

I also believe his 2012 early season performances that earned his step up to McLaren in the first place were mainly due to the Sauber being very kind on the tyres.

So for me the Hulk will win through, with a few losses on the days Perez turns up.
