Luckily (or unluckily) mum and Baby still in hospital, so I'm getting full nights sleep.

Baby is NOT really called Mercedes you Muppets.

I don't think anyone believed that in the first place. But what's her name then?

Congratulations :D call the baby vaptin .

Try not to worry, it's always hard of course but this often makes things all the more worthwhile in the end.

Speak for yourself!! I thought he was serious!! The name is original and some people look for that!!

Besides, I know a young lady who's name is Mercedes!! Quite a fiery little spark plug as a youngster and seems to have grown up to be a lovely young woman!

Actually, I was thinking more along the lines of Mercedes having a patron saint!! :P

Apparently, it's of Spanish origin and it's a title for "Our Lady of Mercy"!

It is. I remember at least one skier and a couple of tennis players so named. My personal fav is Olivia. Unfortunately it is always pretty high on the list of most popular baby names. You could go outside the box with something original like .... Moon Unit.

One of our favourites was originally Amelia. And we didn't think it that common. How stupid we were. It's currently the No.1 girls name in the UK.
