I've just seen the Mercedes advert, with the chickens, I LOVE it. Loved it before I even knew what the advert was for...because of the chickens.

It's cute but I prefer to see car commercials which make my hair stand on end. If they're advertising technology and the results of their R&D prowess, IMO it's wiser to go for 'cool' rather than 'cute'. If you compare the chicken commercial with the reigning world champ of commercials so far (inset), its easy to see why it looks very ordinary.

Thats a good advert but i waaaaaay prefer the chickens. and they're not just cute, they make a point....make it really well! theyd be brilliant belly dancers doing their heads like that!
the lorry one was good but im not sure what it was saying other than lorries can drive slow and careful and the man can do the splits.
but then some of the best adverts you dont always have a clue what theyre advertising. i didnt know the chickens was mercedes till the end, then it was very clever as well as funny.

Aha but do you know that Van Damme isn't splitting in front of a green screen, he's doing that real time on two actual trucks and they did this scene in ONE take!

The commercial is advertizing Volvo's dynamic steering and its accuracy, you notice they're both reversing and they need to separate at an exact width from each other so Van Damme doesn't end up falling. It's precision at its finest, man and machine.

Aha but do you know that Van Damme isn't splitting in front of a green screen, he's doing that real time on two actual trucks and they did this scene in ONE take!

It is a cool video, and still hard to achieve even with whilst on a harness that is 'rubbed out', and standing on two small platforms built in behind the wing mirrors.

I am a confirmed and loyal 911 owner, and have had a few different models. The 911 has always trashed the equivalent Ferrari which is always twice as expensive

Drove an RSR once. Have they sorted out the trailing throttle oversteer yet, such that mere mortals can drive the thing?

When/if they move the engine from the arse end of the car, mere mortals will be able to jump in and drive it

I've never bumped into my neighbor across the street taking his Ferrari 458 Italia out at 6 am to head out to an Auto X. I do however see it at least once every 3 months being flat bedded away.

But who's got four of these now biaches!

Double priced because they are. Hairdresser refers to the fact that Ferraris are generally bought by those more interested in style and looks than performance. For hairdresser one could also read actors, singers, lottery winners etc. Hairdressers aspire to this once they own their own saloon.
there might even have been a survey out that suggested that Ferraris were most popular amongst hairdressers (although I could be imagining that )
However the point remains that some buy cars for show and some buy cars for the driving experience

That's one way of looking at it.

Another way would be that, since it's double priced,
it's out of your range and you're rationalizing your
own choice!

So according to you, a hairdresser looks somewhat like this and drives a Ferrari?
