As if this 'episode' wasn't already damaging enough for F1, Max Mosley has reportedly blamed McLaren-Mercedes for a recent tabloid article relating to his alleged extra-curricular experiences, saying the team set him up.

Mosley has a tension-fraught history with the McLaren team, having slapped them with a £50million fine for last year's Stepneygate scandal in what some felt was his own personal vendetta against team boss Ron Dennis.

'Mosley has confided to friends he believes he may have been the victim of a plot by McLaren-Mercedes, who were fined £50million last year for 'spying' on Ferrari, to destroy his career,' reports the Daily Mail.

The newspaper went on to say that Mosley is determined to prove that he was set-up, which is why he has called an Extraordinary Meeting of the FIA.

However, it's not just Mosley who (allegedly) reckons he was set-up.

Bernie Ecclestone's immediate reaction after hearing the news was to say: "I find it difficult to believe. It's his business but it sounds to me like a set-up."

More telling is that BMW team boss Mario Theissen, who after five days to thinking about it, said on Friday that it did appear as if was entrapment.

"What shouldn't be neglected is it certainly looks like a trap," he said. "And that is something which in our view is not acceptable."

if this is true can this guy get any lower

Interesting.

I guess he's talking about his party being filmed and exposed... otherwise, it's hard to believe he was expecting he's being taken to just another FIA function, finding himself drugged, filled with viagra and thrown into willing arms of 5 prostitutes.

This is completely wrong. It's like a caught thief thinking that his only mistake was being captured, not being thief in the first place.

That aside, I do think he was set up. Prostitutes should be professionals keeping quiet about their clients. If you expose one client, you'll loose many others... except if someone offers you loads of money, or if you dislike your client THAT much. Hey, who knows - maybe some of those ladies are McLaren supporters :D

The other think is, I tend to agree he was setup by newspapers. Tabloids do create news, and this was so easy as it even didn't have to be created - just exposed. And having a chance to expose high profile "celebrity" that most of Britain is hardly in love with, and in such a spicy way... priceless!

Good lord I seriously cant beleive that he is blaiming McLaren for this. Max Mosley clearly has issues with himself and is a bloody tyrant. I would'nt be surprised at all when he says its McLarens fault he has a small.....

... pecker, which requires 5 hookers to stand up for itself. Perhaps this is the source of his relentless victimisation of whoever he happens to choose as an enemy. Clearly the man is emotionally retarded.

Just to clarify, I was definitely, absolutely being sarcastic. Could you really see me siding with Mosley?!

This phrase " Setup" confuses me, Setup suggests to me that somebody induces an innocent individual to commit some act, illegal or otherwise. If anybody thinks this is the first time Mosley has paid ho's to smack his bum dressed as SS officers then their the Innocent. Somebody may have tipped of the News of the World to what Mosley was doing and they set up the camera's but it doesn't change the fact Mosley has engaged in illegal activities for some time and probably for the whole time that he's been FIA chairman.
I hope Dennis did tip them off, Doesn't get the 50 million back but it's definetly priceless.

Mosley will probably make up some stupid excuse like he thought he was visiting "Eden Camp" - a tourist attraction near Malton, North Yorkshire which was a POW Camp in WW2 and set up to show what the war was like - and thought the orgy was some kind of "interactive" feature to show how bad it was.

"Sarcasm is stating the opposite of an intended meaning especially in order to sneeringly, slyly, jest or mock a person, situation or thing."

I hope he did too. Or someone on behalf of McLaren Mrecedes. You're right, getting back the Millions is about a 1000/1 but seeing Mosley, that upright upperclass gent who calls people liars and presumes to question their integrity, seeing him caught in the spotlight squirming- that really is priceless!! Some things are worth more than money.
As to who caught him.....has no one else heard that it was one of the hookers with a mobile phone? I read that it was! Good on her. I hope she made $100 million dollars selling the pics :lol::lol:

It apparently was actually two of the hookers that were wearing pin cams the size of a match.

So? Acting on their own to make money or asked to do so by someone?

they are probably on the NOTW payroll whenever a high profile client comes along they film it and get the story.

It was RD testing out his latest vodafone camera phone. He posted it on his youtube channel and press got ahold of it there.

I dont know whats worse, Max pushing it on Mclaren as a setup, or McLaren going as low as to setup Max like that.
