Those pics from WB are from this video by Giorgio Piola who has proven pretty handy in producing some great explanatory videos in the past and has also had some pretty good insights. Here's the full vid.

Adrian Newey admits the regulation changes for 2014 are likely to hurt Red Bull more than any other team.

With new engine regulations coming in to effect - ultimately taking one aspect of competitiveness out of Red Bull's hands - it is the aerodynamic side which Newey is fearful of. He told James Allen on F1 that the lack of opportunity to exploit gases from the exhausts would cost Red Bull the most having previously been strong in that area.

"There is almost no effect from the exhaust with the further single pipe exit position and the fact that the turbocharger takes a lot of the energy in any case, so there's virtually nothing left," Newey said. "We've probably done a better job than our competitors in developing the best use of the exhaust position from the current restriction, so unfortunately we stand to lose the most again."

And Newey added that the biggest headache for everyone in terms of aerodynamics would come from the new front wing regulations.

"I think the big problem [this] year will particularly be the narrow front wing, which is a big change. 100mm off the front wing doesn't sound very much but it's actually a big change because it puts the endplate right in the middle of the front tyre now, so I think on the straight aero side trying to recover from that is going to be one of the big challenges."

F**K YES!! :D

I predict that Maldonado and Grosjean will collide at the first corner in Melbourne... and Maldonado will blame the team for setting the steering up wrong; it's inevitable!

I also predict that despite the supposed level playing field, Caterham and Marussia will still fail to score a point!

Furthermore I predict that Mercedes won't be as fast as many are predicting...

They will swap excess speed and power for increased reliability

It never ceases to amaze me how "simple" some people can make the technical side of this sport, using visuals!
Personally, I'm thankful he didn't have any graphics on the car, as they would have been distracting!!

Thanks, spanky!! :D

I predict Williams will be mixing it up at the front, Lotus will be floundering in the mid-field or won't have an engine; Ferrari come close to winning the WDC and WCC but the two drivers squabbling lose the championships and Red Bull start badly but are right up at the front by the 3/4 mark of the season.

I think it's best we had a thread where we could keep all the talk in one place. Also I noticed this at precisely 12:09 on the 5th February 2013, WB said.

Yeahp, I'm calling it now, Vettel wins his 4th straight title. :D

Using this evidence WB is a pretty good predictor.

What the hell... since I didn't know I could *do* that...

I'm calling it now, Hamilton wins his 2nd title. :D

I'm actually hoping that all these changes will mean more blowups and failures, I always thought that F1 was much more interesting before the current homologation of engine and car design, when the envelope was constantly being pushed meaning failures were common which spiced up the sport in general!

Some pretty funny 2014 predictions by Maurice Hamilton in his blog.
Here are some of the funny ones but there are some through the season ongoing predictions, definitely worth a read.

Max Chilton only finisher in Bahrain. Not running fast enough to overheat or drain fuel tank.

One driver overtakes another in Spanish Grand Prix. The race is stopped to allow cheerleaders onto the grid, fireworks, organ music and 'PASS!' to flash repeatedly on giant TV screens.

NoW trial reveals hacking of Kimi Räikkonen's phone but nothing comprehensible was heard.

Daniel Ricciardo receives 10-place grid penalty at Monza for continuing to appear far too happy.
