Why didn't they use a simulator?

because they had a test track

Ferrari also make the final settings change on track, using a computer to adjust

In a bizarre twist on the technology side of things. I am sure WB will see my meaning of this. I recently rekindled my love of electronics, where as I would of just put some electronic components the fad is to just put a microcontroller in and program that to do it.

The days of turning a potentiometer are long gone! To be fair you can pick up processors for a few quid now
