I come at this situation primarily as a driver supporter, you come at it primarily as a team supporter and i think that does create differences. i can see your point entirely as a team supporter that Massa has cost points. As a driver supporter I think domenicalli has been reasonably fair with his two drivers ( accepting that the loyalty to Massa has cost) .
domenicalli may not be the most hard nosed team boss but how much worse would you feel if he went gaga and started to cry when Massa did well? Took Alonso's engineer off him to make it 'fair' for Massa? started saying Massas drivers were the best in the history of F1. Said Alonso should learn from Massa. And took all the engin eering team off their jobs to concentrate on getting Massa up to speed......this when Ferrari through Alonso had a chance at both championships. thats the closest I can get to explaining how it feels.

You're right about the difference in perspective, RC!! And, it's important that we keep that in mind, because our comments need a context!!

As for Domenicali, it would be completely ridiculous for him to make those sorts of responses/decisions for one very simple
reason: It's Alonso who is the proven "all-around" driver, with two titles, NOT Massa!

And, the only sheen of tears I've noticed in Domenicali's eyes has been on the occasion that Massa "once again" was out of
the points, for whatever excuse/reason/explanation/justification.

p.s. you'll remember the comment from Massa, at the end of the year, when he'd been let go that he was going to drive for
himself?? Well... did you notice him winning any races? did you notice him doing any better? Hopefully, that puts paid to
the "living in Alonso's shadow" :bs: that we have had to hear. Massa is just NOT up to the same level. Period. And, at the
risk of offending any Williams' fans, I don't believe it's going to be any different, next year!

I agree with you entirely. Massa is not up to Alonsos level. And tears in the eyes of the TP at Massa not making the points are somewhat understandable. now id argue that Button is not up to Hamiltons's standard yet we have the histrionics, the tears, the rearranging of the garage in buttons favour, the OTT claims regarding Buttons prowess, and the more talented lead driver sidelined. IT IS (was) ridiculous, so you start to wonder what's going on.

Massa isnt the lead Ferrari driver now is he?

No he's not! Which confirms my comments earlier that it's not just "one" person that makes a team successful!

But Button is still at McLaren and is leading the team into 2014. At least Ferrari make the decisions based on performance and talent. They kept the better driver and have replaced the weaker one with a stronger one
Mclaren made a gamble and lost with Perez and now are making a gamble with Mag whilst retaining Button. Force India now have a stronger line up. This is the opposite to what McLaren is built on - having the 2 best drivers and letting them duke it out

Whitmarsh overruled the team committee decision to get Hulk, he choose Perez as he felt he would compliment his number 1 and not rock the boat. Tyre whispering while they understeer safely round the track. Then next year still didnt go for the strongest lineup available and is gambling on a rookie being the next Lewis

Don't forget, change has been a long time coming at Ferrari!! I get the loyalty; but, it was overly generous, as far as I'm concerned.
Perez was never going to make up the "deficit" at McLaren, as Alonso did at Ferrari, when Kimi left. Nor will Magnusen be their saviour,
I'm afraid! Hulkenberg? Boh... Maybe!! But, as you already said, that would mean you're comparing them all to Hamilton.
