I'm sorry, wait. How can he deny that it was Nazi, then claim it was a set up in part put together by the paper - if they had set him up and then reported on it as him in a Nazi orgy, then surely it was a Nazi orgy?

Good Point!!!!!! But he is beyond reason-living in Max World!

I agree I don't think McLaren had anything to do with the setup.

But maybe it's Ferrari, they seem to be responsable for everything around here so I will start with nominating them :wink:

Good lord I seriously cant beleive that he is blaiming McLaren for this. Max Mosley clearly has issues with himself and is a bloody tyrant. I would'nt be surprised at all when he says its McLarens fault he has a small.....

Regardless of whether he did or didn't (and it appears he did - trap or not) - the point here is that Mosley is unfit to hold such a position as FIA President, a feeling shared by many in motorsport before the NOTW's article. For the good of the FIA and motorsport in general, Max should now make a dignified exit.

But back to his personal life - if I came home and found a prostitute naked on my bed, I'd tell her to get the hell out of my house, not partake in sexual activities with references to the Nazi regime, to then brand the whole experience a intricately contrived trap, conceived by an embittered F1 team, when caught in the act..!

The whole matter is utterly absurd, and once again F1 looks like a flaming soap opera rather than one of the most prestigious and popular sports on the planet - and again, Max Mosley is slap bang in the middle of it.

(The above is my own opinion and based upon the facts currently available to me)

Well, Mosley has confirmed he's suing...

Mosley launches lawsuit against newspaper

By Jonathan Noble Friday, April 4th 2008, 18:19 GMT

Max MosleyFIA president Max Mosley has begun legal proceedings against the News of the World over the allegations made in last week's newspaper, autosport.com has learned.

Mosley has been at the centre of controversy all week following an article published in the paper last week exposing details of his private life.

And amid the backdrop of growing calls for Mosley to resign over the matter, it was revealed on Friday night that legal action has now begun.

A spokesman for Mosley told autosport.com: "Lawyers representing Mr. Mosley have today served proceedings against the News of the World, claiming unlimited damages."

It is understood that Mosley is pursuing what he believes to be an invasion of privacy in the report.

Mosley has called an extraordinary meeting of the FIA's general assembly to discuss the matter, with the hope of providing what he hopes will be 'total clarity' about the situation to members of the sport's governing body.

The 67-year-old wrote a letter to members of the FIA last week apologising for any embarrasment caused by the revelations about his private life.

He made it clear that he intended to continue in his role as president of the organisation and pursue legal action against the newspaper in question.

Mosley wrote: "It is against the law in most countries to publish details of a person's private life without good reason. The publications by The News of the World are a wholly unwarranted invasion of my privacy and I intend to issue legal proceedings against the Newspaper in the UK and other jurisdictions."

According to Ecclestone, his chances of winning the case are probably slim, and I don't think the newspaper will care too much. They will have made a quite a lot from the story and caused precisely the scandal they wanted. They are used to exposing people like this, so were well aware of the legalities. Exposing a Nazi: I wonder if that could be counted as a legitimate reason?

I'm afraid you are mistaken. Representatives of McLaren-Mercedes and/or the [i]News of the World
organised for the prostitutes to arrive at Mosley's house. Somehow they had Mosley's house keys to let they and the prostitutes in. Then off camera, these representatives forced Max Mosley to partake in the orgy and forced him to enjoy it. Mosley being searched for lice, that the orgy was meant to be a prison, and the racist and German comments were in no way related to Nazism, and Mosley sees no reason at all why they could be linked to such a thing, despite his father's views, to which he was party, and others' suspicions of him. It's all one big mistake really.

Damn! I read it all wrong

Basically, yes. How could we all think Mosley did this on such flimsy evidence. You couldn't even pin McLaren on such evidence!
