Low IQ scorers are sent to "any American sport you like".

Thats a shocking display of bigotry towards our poor dumb American cousins

Someone with acres of land with a tiny hole that needed filling?

Really? Like the Americas Cup?

I'm not sure you can claim yacht racing as an American Sport :nono:

Not Yachting, just the America's Cup.

Wasn't the Original Cup held by the Brits? The yanks won it off them in the first contest. Then they set about changing the rules each challenge to ensure they couldn't lose

.... The Yankees receive approx. $39 million from MLB (varies from year to year, next year it is $65 million), ....... The $60 million they EARNED (they have their own TV network) and they have to give approx. 30% of that back to MLB to be shared by the other teams......

So you admit that in your example the team can sell TV rights exclusively and only 30% of what they sell goes into the pool to be shared.

Maybe Ferrari should try using their position in the sport to earn money...

This is a ridiculous statement. Ferrari is an enormously successful organization making bucket-loads of money.

Then F1 could give them a special deal like the Yankees and tax them 30% on their revenue to be shared among the poor teams

Ferrari would leap at the chance to sell TV rights and only have to hand over 30% and keep the rest.

Last year the Yankees paid over $100 million dollars to help the lesser teams in MLB. Ferrari did NOTHING, despite being "an enormously successful organization making bucket-loads of money". End of discussion. :wavey:

Actually that is entirely incorrect. FOM receives all revenue from tv and circuits. Most viewers, and most fans at circuits are Tifosi. Of that "Ferrari" revenue all goes to the distribution pool - that's 70% more that you're example of the Yankees. If we went to the MLB example you are touting Ferrari would get 70% of their viewing fans revenue.

Aside from your theoretical "Ferrari is responsible for all the TV and gate money, because they are special", how much of Ferrari's actual earned revenues went to the FOM. Tell me Spanky, how much of Ferrari's earned income went to any of the lesser teams?

Typical Tifosi logic 'its all about Ferrari'

Its like saying a certain boxer is responsible for all the revenues from a prize fight because he is special. His opponent should be happy just to breath the same air, let alone expect to get paid

lets pretend Ferrari dont keep 100% from selling merchandise on the side as well as selling overpriced cars to hairdressers and keep all the revenue plus an effective negative contribution to the poorer teams (by the percentage they get off the top of the available pot)

Indeed it was during the Royal Yacht Squadron's 1851 Annual Regatta around the Isle of Wight. ( The Round the Island Race still runs every year )
America entered the imaginatively named Yacht America and won one of the races (R.Y.S £100 Cup) then took the trophy home and renamed it the Americas Cup

The Brits are currently trying to get Adrian Newey to be involved in a challenge, to bring it home. :whip:

Lets hope he can bring Seb along to drive the thing

Last thing we need is this again

Racing incident, no penalty !

Racing incident? He clearly had the racing line. The other one should of backed off.

As a Merc fan you cannot say anything about other cars being overpriced. "Look how cheap this car is.... Oh EVERYTHING is an optional extra, thanks Merc!"
