I base it on Whitmarsh's comments , behaviour, decisions and driving motivation these past four years.

Still you never know what turns Whitmarsh on. Mag is fresh meat, and his honeymoon period with Button (usually 6 mths to a year) is long past.

Well, we have been right on Whitmarsh and Button for the last few years and the way i see it is the end game is yet to be played out. Winter testing and the beginning of the season is going to switch the spotlight on Button and Whitmarsh in a way that will make everything previous look like a relative high.

Magnus could be the only distraction from floundering and ineptness on a scale yet to be seen by a top team. Will they make the decision to focus on Mag early or will they flounder around setting up the car for Button? I can see Button setting new standards for quali lameness.

For 2015 they can look forward to Ron, Alonso and a superfast McLaren protege

Ronnie and the Fonz back together?

Can Ronnie (Grudgeholder) really forget the 100M fine, the backstabbing blackmailer, resulting in the loss of his reputation/integrity, his team's name dragged through mud 2007, lost the chance of an EASY WDC and WCC (after waiting 7 years) and put the welcome mat out for the driver who's currently DOUBTED as the best anymore by Ferrari? Yes he IS doubted...which is why Kimi is called for, don't be naive. :hehe:

Tough ask. If Ronnie really can forgive and forget all that....as far as I'm concerned, he's a balding angel sent from Heaven to run an F1 team.

This is all talk for Honda and the sponsors. And there is some gamesmanship between Whitmarsh and Ron.
Ron would never in a month of Sundays have the excitable Spaniard back in the side. He just needs to say he is ok with it to avoid Whitmarsh holding a card.
Ron will be after a younger replacement for button, hulk or Rosberg and ultimately Lewis or Seb. If Alonso fails at Ferrari why would Ron want him?, if Alonso does well at Ferrari he won't leave
Honda have already said not to expect much from 2015 and they will want drivers ready to win in 2016 , so if McLaren Honda rise again over 2015 they will be able to get Lewis, Seb or whoever is the best at that time

First we need rid of Whitmarshs mediocre gang, Ron/ brawn back in, honda up to speed. 2016 could be the next title

If he can "forgive" all that you believe happened, the question you should be asking is just how innocent is he??

Are you implying that he could be even more guilty than 100 mill fine, losing a WCC and WDC, being banished from the sport and losing control of the team he built?

What punishment did he avoid by his 'pretend innocence'? Maybe Ron blackmailed himself and pretended it was El Ponso all along.

Maybe Ron was secretly involved with crashgate, when Alonso had no idea Piquet was gonna crash and yet agreed to start the race fueled for only a few laps

Do you see that I'm the author of a post and go into attack mode? :whip:

Since Hammer was suggesting that it would be too much to ask that Ron Dennis "forgive and forget"
all that Alonso """supposedly""" did / said, considering the sort of person he """seems""" to be, then,
I asked a very simple question.

IF Ron Dennis """can""" forgive anyone for anything, he can't have been all that innocent himself.

p.s. I'm going to ignore your "other" gratuitous comments!! :whip:

Everything I said in my previous post is simply looking at it from RD's perspective. Are you suggesting I have posted untruths in that post? Please bold those sections and I'll gladly lead you to links/interviews with the horses themselves.

Not necessary, as I don't dispute that's what he's presenting to the media.
However, as a wise one once said, there are always three versions of the "truth"!
One side, the other side and something in the middle!

p.s. I did not suggest you had posted "untruths" (a.k.a. lies)!!

Like General MacArthur returning to the Philippines, I think the lure of McLaren/Honda is going to be too much for Lewis to resist after he's done with Mercedes.

If he really wants that car, I'm sure he can afford it by now.

I don't know, McLaren supercars just don't feel like supercars to me.....just a new brand trying to push into the realm of REAL deals....such as the Bugatti....or Koenigsegg....or Henessey...or LAMBO, at the top of my head.

Maybe they'll give it to Button as a parting gift when they shuffle him out the door after next season.
