Operaman, I think you hit the nail on the head. some teams will be advantaged over others at the start of the season, BUT BECAUSE OF DECISIONS THEYVE MADE. such as been v clever capturing a new sponsor, been clever with design, got the best designers, got the best drivers , see a loophole etc etc, some of which comes from having, or using effectively money. And full marks to teams who do that.
But BEING HANDED an advantage is different. BEING GIVEN a veto on rules and BEING GIVEN extra money to use as they see fit, well that's just not fair.

No ones trying to change your allegiance. Just asking you why you would be happy with Ferrari starting on front row. You are avoiding the question, which is the op . You are happy with a veto and extra help, but not points headstart. This is inconsistent

At least you have the nerve to try and defend the teams actions. Most other Titosi just say 'take it of leave it'

YOU are ignoring the fact that Todt was GM at Ferrari until 2007; but, wasn't elected FIA president until 2009!!

I'd check my facts before I went spurting these sorts of comparisons. In 2013 the New Your Yankees got just under $100Mil from TV revenues, the Cincinnati Reds got way less than half that - $44Mil.

There is a never ending stream of tears about how Ferrari is too good at this or that - so lets nobble them. Oh, Ferrari practice too well and too much, lets ban that, and Ferrari are too popular, and Ferrari are too good at negotiating their contracts. So every time I read about how others can't match Ferrari's standards, to me, it just comes over as whining and crying.

When it comes to "special" deals, wasn't it Mercedes who held out signing the new Concorde - when all the other teams had reached agreement - and threatened to leave F1 unless they got extra special treatment. Whereas I would applaud that move, perhaps those Mercedes fans here who don't like that should write to Merc and tell them they should take the same as Marussia gets and hand the rest back to the FiA to help them write a few more indecipherable and ludicrous rules and regulations.

Was the difference in payout as a result of performance the year before or according to a formula applied to all teams

Or do the Yankees get that amount every single year regardless of performance, are they the only team in th mlb to get a guaranteed amount regardless?

You forgot to add that $60 million of that came from owning the YES network. Perhaps Ferrari should research the Yankees model for revenue generation, instead of begging for favours.

Not sure of the actual numbers; but, you'd think selling a "few" Ferrari's would top that, no?
