Oh common Spanky, its not that simple. Of course this country has a past, we are not talking about that. we are talking about what is acceptable today. You have evil rascists everywhere. I am just saying in some places things have been done to make it less socially acceptable.
Although football fans in this country have their hooligan and rasicst elements, the majority of the crowd wouldnt stand for it anymore if these guys started chating and abusing players. Because at least things have happened to make it unacceptable. Who is gonna throw bannanas at black England players? They would in Italy without much bother.

As far as politics, since the second world war, when Britain was bailed out by its former colonial subjects and victims of unfairness, its emigrants and ethnic minorities have been generally better off. That was a defining event after which the colonies were given up. Italy did not have such a watershed moment and today their political parties are less 'balanced'

All F1 teams 'cheat' when given the chance, there is no 'honour amongst theieves' Ferrari or McLaren are no different, its just that its more acceptable someplaces to do things in certain ways. Like football players diving and 'simulating' etc.

This is just about Ferrari declaring they would only hire Italians. I am just saying there is a context there

If you look at the list of white supremacist organisations and extreme right political parties from the UK, it seems they are having increased success in recent years in Britain. Weren't 2 elected from Britain to the European parliament recently? Hasn't it been all over the media just last season the problem in the epl?

UKIP isn't a white supremacist organisation, they just don't want to be in the EU....

The issue in Ferrari is a "National Pride" type thing where they will only hire Italians; but when you limit your resource pool you can't complain when you start to go backwards a bit.
