I like it. If Merc have a big advantage over the rest (as I strongly anticipate) then at least we will see real competition between those 2. I dont think Nico is going to be having problems with his clutch and ers that remains unresolved for 3 years

Rosberg says his goal is to beat Hamilton next year. one website phrased it as "Take down"

Hardly news...if this wasn't his goal, Merc would want to look for another driver.

Just wanted to mention it OFFICIALLY in this thread, as I've blurted the fact out here and there...

Lewis Hamilton will be sporting number 3 next year. The last time he had that number the season went very well for him. :cloud9:

But last time he finished a complete motor series in a year ending in a 4, he came 5th!!

Where the F@#K did you get your numerology degree from? Years are applied universally, so in the charts with the rising Sagittarius, (symbolic of the silver arrow) the number 3, is the key factor here. :whip:

... In a racist incident Ferrari would declare they were only going to hire Italian staff resulting in a spaghetti culture that they are forced to abandon a couple years later

So people being patriotic are racists in your view?

Not in all cases, there is a line between patriotic, nationalistic and outright xenophobia. It depends on the context. For example imagine McLaren turning around and declaring that they would only employ Englishmen. That wouldn't happen. Italy have a history of democratically elected fascist governments and maybe that allows it to be acceptable to declare they wanted only Italian staff.

It's all about context, some things are acceptable in some cultures and somethings smell iffy in others

So... when the British F1 media declare one of its homegrown heroes to be the best ever;
when they flatly refuse to see other more successful drivers as being just as good; when
they ignorantly insist on massacring the non-English names rather than learn them; and
when they constantly and consistently take pot shots at non-British teams for their team
philosophy, it's "patriotic or nationalistic" and not "outright xenophobia"?

And Button has turned Red 5 into Red 10, good job, but no cigar

I see where you are coming from Sagi, but those are all opinions. I was more interested in documented facts and how history has shaped todays culture. The 2 have different values today
For example the Italian football fans Azzuri (like a footballing tifosi) actually racially insult and abuse a black fellow in their team called Balotelli. This is a player on their own national team. The same player has been racially insulted by an Italian gorvenment minister. These are all documented facts. They even racially abuse their own player who is Argentinian origin
Imagine what the tifosi would do to a black driver in Ferraris youth programme. we dont have to imagine because they dont even have any.
Like I said the facts point to different cultures having different standards of civilisation and tolerance

Honestly, I am not a "soccer" aficionada, so I am not aware of what goes on in that particular sport.
As despicable as that may be, all I can say is that you can't blame the entire population of Italy
based on the actions of some ignorant idiots who follow soccer!!

However, to your comment about "opinions", I am aware of how some of the British media present
their opinions as facts. I don't believe it's necessary to "state" that Ferrari/Schumi cheated at every
opportunity!! Let's face it, you can justify, rationalize, and excuse just about any championship with
whatever "shoulda, coulda, woulda" opinions you like; but, no way can you explain away 7 titles, oops,
14 titles, by insisting that the only way that was possible is through cheating!! And, yes, as much as it
pains me to admit it, Red Bull have done it now with their four consecutive years of winning!

I've got a great idea!

Let's just try and pass off Hamilton as being Sicilian!

I am not suggesting the whole of Italy is represented by a few ignorant peasants. I am just saying that in a country where you have fiercely proud supporters like the azzuri and tifosi combined with politicians or leaders like Montezemolo, Mussolinis Daughter etc then declaring the team will only employ Italians is not patriotism but tapping into 'other' things
Whereas in Britain there are a multitude of different origins assimilated through history and it just wouldn't be accepted to exclude employing according to origin

As far as Ferrari and ms, I don't think they are accused of only winning by cheating, instead they only win by unlimited testing, special tyres, special assistance from FIA, veto on rules, extra money, and a few incidents of outright rule breaking for which they got sanctioned or disqualified

But cheating? Nah never

All that and an exceptional driver; who occasionally liked to 'tap' people off the road.

So Sagi, I hope you've got things all clear now. The Italians are a bunch of mostly peasant, evil Nazi's with no redeeming characteristics and who have only ever won anything by cheating.

On the other hand, the Brits have a proud history of never cheating and only playing fair (that whole McLaren Stepney stealing thing was a put-up by Italians dressed up as Ron and Nigel). Along with their squeaky clean non-racist sporting record (that's why they have all those parliamentary inquests into the non-existent racism in English soccer) they also have a proud tradition of well balanced politicians and leaders - read about some of them and their parties here and here. Some mighty fine politicians and leaders in that lot.

And all this time I thought that good and bad knew no borders or countries, go figure.
