Sahara Force India is delighted to confirm that Nico Hulkenberg will return to Sahara Force India in 2014 after agreeing a multi-year deal.

MULTI YEAR GUYZ!

It's good new, I'm sure he could have kept his seat at Sauber but wonder why he didn't. His management team tried to go to bat, but Ferrari was a bridge too far and Lotus went for the money so really, with the exception of Red Bull and Perhaps McLaren, there was no other team he could have gone to with the musical chair games we've had.

The guy could finally get lucky next season with a Merc engine. He could be challenging for a WDC with Nico and Lewis,

Oh you're serious..... I don't think FI will have the car for that; even if they do have an engine that's vastly dominant (Unlikely one engine will have such a huge advantage), there are other big players using the Merc Power Train. But we never know.

All it would take is for the Merc lump to blow up 20% less than the others and to have 20% more power

The rest would be history by mid season

And out of the Merc teams FI are the best

So it's not such a leap

I think this deal will work out okay for Nico. It gives him some career stability, and Force India might still be a solid mid-field team. As for any perceived Mercedes advantage ..... don't be silly. Bernie will not allow any engine to have an advantage, unless it is in the car of "the ideal son-in-law". :hehe:

Bernie tried to kill the V6. I am not sure how much he is gonna be doing from the bottom bunk bed as Dietrich's roomie

Unless Horner becomes the new F1 'supremo'

Good for FI...they're sticking to their 'talent before money' policy. :)

I'm pretty confident this team could be a dark horse next year. Not trophy challenging, but gunning for a Top 3....basically what Lotus did this year.

I do respect that policy they run; although how much Perez fits into that category remains to be seen.

Perez HAS talent...he's shown that. I believe his consistency is what's lacking. He finished seventh in the sauber in his debut F1 race. Granted, both cars were disqualified post-race for an infraction of a few millimeters on the rear wing (if I remember correctly). Also, if I remember correctly he was the only driver that race to only pit once. He's repeatedly demonstrated talent, albeit not always consistently. D@mn shame mclaren dropped him so soon

It would be cool if FI does indeed confirm Perez alongside Hulkenberg....that'd be a very interesting pairing. And Perez can actually learn a thing or two from the Hulk.
