It seems that already things are not rosy at Ferrari. Luca has banned Alonso form using twitter to refer to anything about Ferrari. Over to you. Fernando :hooli-popcorn:

Amazing how a complete bs story from one of the most avid Ferrari hating bloggers can provide so much delight for the anti-Ferrari mob here.

FYI Sagi, it's a pity thejudge13 blog doesn't come in a paper edition - if it did I could save money on dunny-paper and give his blog an apt rating at the same time.

Is that the new LaFerrari 1 off special edition with a V6 Turbo and ERS good for 160 bhp with fuel flow limited to 100 units?

I certainly hope so.

BTW in '14 the flow is limited to a max of 100kg per hour.

Sounds like typical Ferrari nostagia and old fashioned stubborness

Why would they keep it quiet till they shake the new engine down on the track when you got dynos and computers that can model the engine down to microns in tolerance

Not at all surprising from Di Montezemolo, he has the biggest and most arrogant mouth in F1. I wish someone would tell him to stop talking!

I wish you were in charge of Red Bull.

If I was I'd have Horner and Newey standing in for me

If that is Ferrari shaking down their new 2014 V6turbo then I would certainly be very concerned and worried if I was a tifosi. We have had no details about the engines and they feel the need to do something on track that cant be done on the dyno.
That cannot be good news

having said that the engine sounds fricken amazing

So you seriously think that is Ferrari's 14 engine?

it's a turbo and the car has a seriously big air scoop on top, other than that we know nothing. But the blow off valve sounds :cloud9:

It doesnt sound like a V12, and you can hear a serious amount of electric whirrs and some wastegate stuff at levels unheard of so far in normal cars. So its a V6 turbo with some very advanced kers/ers energy recovery. Its got an extra air scoop on top - exactly where an F1 car has one

Yup this is Ferrari shaking down their new engine. Why would they produce a V6 Laferrari that has a longer (I think so) wheelbase and sounds like an electric jet plane?

I doubt they'd be able to test the energy recovery portions of things on a dyno, and that's exactly what I believe they were checking out on this track day with the sudden decelerations. I wonder how old the video is.

I'm still pretty skeptical but it is possible and I think it is a really clever and good move if it is true.

One thing that did stand out to me (and which may validate that if was Ferrari's '14 donk) was that it sounded like the engine actually completely shut off in that heavy barking part. Probably a conservation strategy. I know this sort of technology is available in road cars today but it would be neat if they had mastered this to be fast enough to apply to their engine. That said, I hope I'm completely wrong that 14 will be the year we moved from ridiculous tire conservation to ludicrous fuel conservation....... pit-2-driver:- "don't race so-and-so, he's on a different fuel burn strategy to you"

I just don't understand why they didn't run the donk in a previous f1 car?
