They are giving McLaren fans hope. That's also waht Button is doing. He is being optimistic. Can't blame him for positivity. Now lets share his positivity and be positive to him. :)

Do you think Button has a chance of the podium without bad luck from Mercedes, Ferrari and Lotus?

because thats what Button says...

This is what I'm talking about. I don't know how many times I can repeat that you are blatantly misrepresenting his quote.

Why dont you try debate without insults, lets try again

this is the Mirrors headline about the same Button interview

Jenson Button vows to put McLaren back on the podium in Brazil after woeful season

So their headline is that Button VOWS to make the podium, are they bullying poor Jenson by twisting his words? Is their implication a filthy rotten piece of immorality?

Are they misrepresenting his quote?

Yes. Yes. A thousand times yes.

I don't see why that's so hard to believe, since it's commonplace with crappy journalism. Sensational headlines get pageclicks.

Ok so Button has spoken out and invited the media to make headlines. No problem so far, like I said before, lets see what transpires, and if he doesnt put in the show his fighting words suggest lets see what he then says about the car.

If he turns round and trashes the car.........

Excuse me, I'm just going to place my usual Hamilton to beat Button bet in the Fantasy League. Revenge is a dish best served cold.

He wouldn't be the first driver to make promises to his fans and his team,
nor will he be the first to make promises that he wasn't able to deliver!

And, more importantly, the won't be the last to do either!!

I'm confused, so maybe someone can enlighten me... did Button say he was going to lead McLaren to a title, now that Hamilton was no longer there?

I have no doubt that will happen. At least in your view.

I hear you WB. Its not a question of revenge etc

Its purely about reacting to the current and newest reports and data that continue to throw up annoying and frustrating happenings at McLaren involving Button and/or Whitmarsh.
And some are of the opinion that no matter what new and terrible things happen then it shouldnt be commented upon because there have been so many of them over the past 4 years.
And then there is the ridiculous notion that it is possible to BULLY a millionaire F1 driver by commenting on his perceived wrongdoings yet its ok to bully forum members for using a forum to vent their disapproval of a millionaire F1 driver

Hopefully there will not be any Button happenings this weekend worthy of comment or we might see mental breakdowns amongst the more sensitive members

Can you guys believe the season ends in two day? What will we talk about for four months?

I've thought about just avoiding any F1 discussion throughout the off-season (though to be fair, I've also thought about avoiding it altogether, lately). It will just be the same recycled arguments, over and over, with a brief pause to look at the pretty (or not) new cars.

Hmmn, I suspect winter testing and 2014 will bring up a bit more to discuss than just how the cars look
