Bild claims that the FIA's annulment of the McLaren-Ecclestone concession is related to the governing body's understanding that - at the end of the 'spygate' scandal - Ron Dennis would be stepping down as team boss in 2008.

The Briton reportedly came close to quitting before the start of the season, but at the last minute turned up in Australia and even held aloft the winning constructors' trophy on the Albert Park podium.

Bild claims that the FIA is 'frustrated' with Dennis' position, and regards his Melbourne podium antics as 'provocation'.

'This is the result,' the newspaper said, referring to the pitlane demotion.

o.0

That's ridiculous. Firstly, that they would give McLaren the fifth pit garage only on the condition that Dennis left and secondly that they have a problem with him celebrating a win. He's the team principal, he's entitled to go up there and collect the trophy.

Sounds like another FiA witch hunt at McLaren! If they spent more time thinking about running the sport properly, and less time telling teams how to conduct their internal affairs then that'd do me.

Come to think of it, if they spent more time running the sport properly, and less time with prostitutes then that'd be better too!

The FIA are 'frustrated' with Dennis position?! Ha. Even if Ron Dennis was going to stand down this season, it would not have been until later on in the year. Obviously, that means he would still have been the team principle for at least the first chunk of the season, so what's the problem with Ron Dennis collecting the trophy on the podium? Further, if he were to be standing down, I don't see the issue in letting him on the podium for what would be his last few times. Moreover, the FIA are blurbing the issue: is the spy scandal at McLaren as a whole, those directly involved in the spy scandal, or Ron Dennis?

The FIA are an absolute disgrace. I would not be surprised to see another scandal dreamed up this season to screw over McLaren.

Can't Ron Dennis just F Off! Seriously I wouldn't hate McLaren that much if he were not around. Please retire after 2008 and Ferrari please make sure you win everything as well so Ron Dennis doesn't get the pleasure of one more trophy. After he goes then McLaren may have their turn at winning if they can beat Ferrari. :D

I don't expect Ron to retire this year or the year after that. Now that he is divorced he has got not much to go home for and so Mclaren will take up even more of his life that it already is!

There are plenty of people I'd have out of the sport before Ron. I can see no justifiable reasons for you hating McLaren, or Dennis. Just that you want someone to hate. :/

That's very true imho. F1 would not be what it is today without Ron's ability to bring his team to optimal competative form and to consistantly battle for WCC's and WDC's.

Anyone else notice there seem's to be ALOT of personal hatred for consistent winner's regardless of what team they are? :? That's not being a TRUE sportsman/sportsperson imho.

Dude growup and quit editing my post to conform to your personal agenda and vendetta against me. I was supporting McLaren but once again your 'keyboard warrior' persona emerged.
