Figured I'd start a thread about Toronto's Mayor Rob Ford. As usual Canada comes in late to the party claiming dibs and international headlines, but of course they're twenty years or more late. We do it first and we do it better in America... so suck it Canada!

Allow us to show you how it's done. Washington's Mayor Marion Barry, not only was he on video smoking crack two decades ago, but he threw in prostitutes to cap it all off!

p.s. Personally, I like Rob Ford! He's colourful, funny, unique and pretty well doesn't like playing politics!
He actually campaigned as the working-man's mayor!

Mind you, he's nothing compared to the mayor who called in the army to dig us out of a huge snow storm!!

He's not polished... He's not suave... He's not political...
BUT, he did get elected... He has been running the largest city in Canada...
He still have a following...

Yes, he screwed up, more than once... but, all that means is that he's human!!
At the end of the day, if the people of Toronto don't want him re-elected, they'll
have to turn out and vote!

((p.s. I can't vote for him, as I'm not in the city of Toronto!!))

Wait the people of Toronto actually elected him? I thought it was a royal appointment.

Nope!! Duly elected after a campaign which included three candidates!!
At least, the guy is more real than the other two that ran against him!!

By the way, there are councillors at City Hall who have been on a witch hunt since Ford was elected!
They have looked for ways and tried so many things to discredit him, just because they weren't able
to get him to do them any favours!!

The media is just as guilty.

smoked crack
lied about smoking crack
blamed smoking crack on being in a drunken stupor at the time
denied lying about smoking crack, saying the reporters asked the wrong questions
touched a fellow council member inappropriately
commandeered a city bus for the use of her football team
confused Windsor and Winnipeg .... like confusing Liverpool with Glasgow
never described herself as 300 pounds of fun

....... and I could go on.
