It's a sad time for motorsport in general. As a Scot myself, seeing two great competitors in Colin Mcrae, and now David Leslie tradgically pass away in separate air crashes is hard to believe.

I was shocked when I heard what happened to Mcrae, but I did not expect what happened last night to claim the life of David Leslie. A wonderful competitor in not just the BTCC, but also in sportcars. As well as his driving ability, his commentary work for Eurosport had really grown over the years, and he was exceptional in their coverage of the World Touring Car Championship.

He will be sadly missed.

The death of Richard Lloyd is also a shock. His operation of the Audi Btcc team was formidable. I remember how dominant those cars used to be. And of course his team were the first to bring us the all conquering Audi R8's up until 2001, and of course the memorable Bentley Le mans win in 2003.

This will really hurt the FIA GT3 championship.

First Al Holbert then Colin McRae and now David Leslie and Richard Lloyd  ! A friend of mine who is a pilot/airplane mechanic and skydiver took me up in his little 'tin can' about 15yr's ago and I swore I would NEVER ride in any aircraft that does not serve booze! Atleast on commercial flight's I can order two double's once the 'seatbelt sign' turn's off  .

Prayer's sent to all the family's.
