I'm embarrassed for Lotus should they choose anyone but the Hulk. Even Massa would be a compromise.

I think it is a case of the times. In the 70's and 80's natural selection would of meant that they would not be around for a second year

It's funny, I was thinking the opposite earlier today - that years ago drivers earned the right to a seat through skill, had a learning curve, which gave them longer to establish themselves. Cars were trickier beasts to master.

But cars nowadays have flattened that curve, so it's probably easier to reach your potential, or get close to it. Without sponsorship money the grid would look a lot different, and now drivers would be in and out a lot more.

No. They need funding. Maldonado is the way to go for the team, even if Hulk is a better driver. It's a hard decision. Driver, or team.

That would be glorious. I'd love to see him squeezed out of F1, but someone is going to take that money.

I'm very hopeful for Lotus and the driver pairing of Grosjean and Hulkenberg, coupled with a a decent long term plan... I think I've got my underdog team!

Sadly, I can see Sauber looking at Maldonado alongside Sirotkin. Their financial situation is dire and both of those bring in more than Gutiérrez.

I am so looking forward to next year. The team mate battles are going to be intense. I can see tears and relationship break downs up and down the paddock
