Watched qualifying last night and hope Alonso is looking at the positives.

Last time he qualified 11th he won the race (Valencia 2012) ;)

Yes, after a number of other drivers (Vettel, Grosjean, etc) pulled off :whip:

that apostrophe is in the wrong place. and i dont get it, what went on his car.

you can say either, and it's commonly accepted to simply put an apostrophe at the end of a name that already ends in an s, plus it's visually more pleasing and more efficient.

WB is correct.

An apostrophe comes after like that if it is a plural's thing. So... Pencil's tip for a pencil and..... Pencils' tips for two pencils.

English language is renown for its exceptions. Many sheep aint many sheeps for example, pencil ends in l, if it ended in s, it would be an exception to the rule.

dumb arse ends in e, nhcheese ends in e

Very funny. But I'm correct. An apostrophe comes after when the word after is the object of te plural

One week's notice = notice of one week.
Two weeks' notice = notice of two weeks.

Ah but your week is not a possesive noun like in Lewis' notice, its just a plural form of the noun week(many Lewis's notice) So for plurals on nouns you are absolutely correct, however for possessive nouns there are these exceptions for those ending in s

In the possessive case, a noun or pronoun changes its form to show that it owns or is closely related to something else. Usually, nouns become possessive by adding a combination of an apostrophe and the letter "s."

You can form the possessive case of a singular noun that does not end in "s" by adding an apostrophe and "s," as in the following sentences:

The red suitcase is Cassandra's.
The only luggage that was lost was the prime minister's.
The exhausted recruits were woken before dawn by the drill sergeant's screams.
The miner's face was covered in coal dust.
You can form the possessive case of a singular noun that ends in "s" by adding an apostrophe alone or by adding an apostrophe and "s," as in the following examples:

The bus's seats are very uncomfortable.
The bus' seats are very uncomfortable.
The film crew accidentally crushed the platypus's eggs.
The film crew accidentally crushed the platypus' eggs.

2 Grammar Nazis of forumula1.com spotted. :hehe:

Should there be an apostrophe in Nazis? I'm not sure.

No, there is no apostrophe needed when a word is plural!!

RULE: ALL words ending in "s" have the apostrophe added to the "s" whenever the word denotes possession!!:whip:

Why doesn't bloody Alonso get a drive through penalty when he clearly overtook OFF the track (investigation AFTER the race? What the f**k?)....and when any other driver does it, it's a straight drive through decision within 2-3 laps.

Ridiculous stewarding, not to mention Sutil going off the track completely and gaining 2 places and still no penalty for that. F**ked up officials and sh*t consistency.

That just adds to it, he's coming out of the PITS and the Sauber simply took the racing line but Alonso forces the issue, goes off track well over the white lines and overtakes while coming out of the PITS. It's even worse than just fighting for position and then going off track (while still on the kerbs) like Grosjean did in Hungary.

Not to mention the Mercedes is pathetic on the straights. Lewis was robbed left and right, and Nico proved it when he got overtaken by a Ferrari while he had DRS!! Cars were simply sweeping past others on DRS while the Mercs were barely making it into the braking point. What a frustrating GP.... :censored:

It will be interesting to see whether or not a penalty is given to Alonso. Grosjean got a drive-through (which I didn't agree with) for completing a very similar move after being forced off-track and didn't come back on in a dangerous manner, so how this wasn't the same straight away, I'll never know...
