Merc are reaping what they have sowed. A top heavy team, no one gets to that sort of position without drive, talent and an ego. If the heads of an organisation are fighting for power the team will loose focus.

Hopefully Brawn will emerge as the alpha, at that point people will be put in their place or leave the team.

Teams run by meetings and democracy don't work. Ask all the car manufacturers who have gone into f1 and put a corporate structure in place.

Look at the Stewart team, was winning races. Got bought by Ford and Jaguar achieved nothing. They then got bought by Redbull and now look where they are.

Part of a news peice on Sky F1:....

Mercedes non-executive Chairman Lauda says the team have resolved any issues they had earlier in the season and that it is now down to Brawn to decide if he want to stay or not.

"It's down to him now, I'd say it's 50-50," Lauda told the Daily Mirror.

"We have had some small problems in the team in the past but everything is sorted now.

"It's all agreed between him and Paddy and everyone else. He's No.1. I have tried to persuade him to stay. I want him to stay. We will talk again at the end of the season."

Here's my daily dose of 'the judge'. Here he reveals how Nikki signed Lewis.

Nico thinks it will be hard to keep second in the constructors but says one of their strengths is the strong line-up, the best on the grid. He says they get on well and work well together and this could see them through..................

I do think Nico and Lewis are a strong pairing, possibly the strongest this year. Next year however, I think Kimi and Fred will be the strongest twosome. As always though, it will come down to which team provides the best car design and subsequent updates.

I have a deep dislike for Ferrari, but what they did for next year commands some respect. It's obviously not a no.1, no.2 line up and it's good to see they're breaking tradition finally and becoming a real racing team.

You're right it will all be down to how the cars are next year. Regarding the pairings I think it will be a very close call between those two pairs. Four excellent drivers. We know Nico and Lewis work well together, if Fred and Kimi do , I think it will be nip and tuck as to who is the best pairing! maybe varying from race or race. If Kimi and Fred 'have issues' with each other, the momentum will swing to the Merc pair. Either way watching those four is going to be a highlight of next year! Well it is for me :)

Why Fred? Why not Nando? It's gonna be the Mercs. They seem very confident about Mercs engines next year, and Eddie Jordan says they will be challanging for world titles.

I respect your right to make that comment; but, I have to respectfully disagree that Ferrari hasn't ALWAYS been a "real racing team"!
Just as we have the right to run our homes/businesses as we see fit, so too does Ferrari have the right to their one-two philosophy!

Why Fred? Why not Nando?...

Not sure why Alonso has that nickname, since his name is NOT Frederico, which would translate to Fred!! :banghead:

It's disrespectful to a Spanish speaker. If you really need a nick name other than the standards for him, try Ferni.
