Wasn't he one of the main reasons Hamilton left McLaren?

Since paddy turned up on the Merc pitwall, they havent looked too clever on the strategy calls etc. infact they have looked like Mclaren at times. In fact many a time recently I have wondered if Brawn suddenly stopped being a strategic genius, maybe this is all part of seeing his responsibilities eroded to accomodate the TP in waiting

I truly hope Paddy concentrates on the mechanicals and lets someone else handle the strategy

But who? Are Shovlin and Clear still there? Anyone else in the top strategy role would be an inexperienced liability in my view. I dunno who was running it at Korea but that was a total joke leaving Hamilton out like that.

I'm still trying to figure out what the point of Lauda being there is.

I hope Brawn is still going to be around at another team, i don't think there is anyone more articulate and interesting than him when being interviewed.

Ironically enough I think Lauda might actually be good in a strictly limited strategy role. I am not sure how that went when he had his own team, but if he could be kept well away from other executive aspects might work

People are talking that there is a strange lack of command going on at Ferrari. I think if brawn went there with Kimi, the team could seriously benifit.

I'm sure Ferrari have thought of that. And their gain will be Mercedes loss.

I wondered if something was going on last race when Ross was in the garage nit on the pitwall. I don't have anything like the faith in Toto or Lowe for overseeing the show.

TBH I had never hear of Toto (apart from when his owner went on a killing spree in the land of Oz) until one day he turned up on the Williams Pit wall, then he decided that the Mercedes pit wall looked nicer.

He seems a nice enough chap but compared to Ross his track record is nothing. I hope it's not a case at Mercedes that ego overrules what's best for the team.

Mercedes non-executive chairman Niki Lauda insists Ross Brawn will not make a final decision on his future until after the final race of the season, amid speculation that he has already decided to stand down as team principal at the end of the year.

Rumours about Brawn moving teams or quitting the sport have been rife ever since Toto Wolff joined the team as executive director at the start of the year. Mercedes' current power structure is led by a triumvirate of Brawn, Lauda and Wolff, which has delivered improved results this year despite media speculation about divisions between the three.

Brawn has left his future open, but in recent months hinted that he wants to stay at the team in order to be a part of its future success under the new technical regulations in 2014. However, at the start of the year Wolff introduced McLaren technical director Paddy Lowe to the team as executive director (technical), with the view of having him take over the reins when Brawn decides to step down.

The most recent rumours that Brawn is on his way out were kicked off by BBC Sport's Eddie Jordan on Tuesday, but Lauda stressed that nothing has been decided.

"The speculation is total rubbish," he told the Times. "The situation is absolutely clear: I spoke to Ross a while ago and we agreed that he will come back to me after the final race of the season in Brazil to tell me whether he wants to stay or go.

"I am trying everything I can to encourage and motivate him to stay. I am the one who asked him to stay. I want him to do it but it is not my decision; it is his decision. If he stays, he will be team principal -- nothing else -- or he will retire."

Brawn has made clear he will only stay if he remains the senior "reference" within the team.


Seriously, you guys couldn't tell that Eddie Jordan wrote the article, there was no proof of confirmation that Brawn will be leaving, there is a chance that he could stay.

Just that BBC post, the moral of the story, "Brawn to leave Merc" Mercedes haven't announced anything.

Just BBC being misleading again.
