Well it still spices it up. Think about Seb pitting early. What if Webber had made his stratergy work

Personally I'd completely revamp tire use in F1.

Firstly I'd end the limit of tires for practice and Q.
Secondly I'd drastically shorten the pit entry and exits to the shortest reasonable distance and get the pit lane speed up as high as possible during the race.
Third I'd give each team their years racing supply so they had plenty of tires but not enough of any one compound that they could race mostly on those.

Teams could strategize as to how best to use their years supply of tires. Drivers could chose the tire set that suits them most and could truly race at, or close to their max potential the whole race.

THIS!!! :clap::clap:

Why do they "have" to use two compounds?? Is there a "valid" reason??

p.s. saying it's only to keep things fair, is NOT a valid reason!! :nono:

I think it's so that they have to do pit stops since they don't refuel any more. Since before DRS pit stops were often the only place overtaking happenned.
But if there were a whole load of tyres to choose from, some soft, some hard, some in between, but they all worked and didn't explode, then it could be up to the teams wether to take one or two compounds. Up to the teams to decide which is the best tyre to take and wether to change it or stay on it.....I would have thought

And, how would that be bad? I mean, they can't choose between two tire manufacturers,
why shouldn't they be allowed to choose between tires?? :banghead:

I agree, that's what I'm saying. I think the choice should be with the teams.
