Vettel is the first true champ of the Playstation generation - a videogamer, racking up credits here and there and with ease in his fantasy world,
where he's actually a deserving 4 time champ. He probably has posters of himself on the wall, and gets angry when his mum calls him down for tea.

In terms of ability now I'd say Vettel edges Kimi out a bit. Kimi at his prime was at McLaren where he was monstrous in qualifying and the race, though now he seems to be more of a thinker and better at race craft, though his speed is questionable. Grosjean looks mighty quick compared to him at times in the same car, and this should never happen to a WDC.

I'd prefer Kimi as a driver in my team since the guy seems to be easy to work with, has a huge fan base, isn't a backstabbing b!tch, and when he's on the podium he won't get booed along with all his (my) sponsors/partners.

Absolutely the most ridiculous statement I have read on any F1 forum, anywhere. You're even funnier than the guy (another forum) that claimed Massa was one of the greats.

Are you denying that Vettel is praised by his engineers for being a great team player?
Are you denying that Vettel dedicated a number of helmets to his team members?
Are you denying that Vettel is always the first to thank the team for their efforts?'

First to thank the team??? Are you suggesting he does it faster than Alonso, Hamilton etc. Another joke.

One thing stands out. Vettel ignored a direct team order to hold position and stole a win from his team-mate. He crapped all over his team-mate, he crapped all over his team by doing so and did it in a very public way. If that to you denotes a "humble team player", then I feel extremely sorry for anyone unfortunate enough to be on your team.

Didnt Hamilton use to go round the garage BEFORE the race to shake their hands and thank all of his team personnel in the garage for all of their hard work.

Thanking you're team for building you a good car is the MINIMUM drivers should do. As for being a team player that's ridiculous. If he was a team player he wouldnt have passed Webber in Malaysia when told not to!

I am saying there are some serious flaws in not caring about the opinion of team members when you choose to mock the idea of someone being a team player.

Kimi and Vettel: Bosom buddies

If you seek for the two most different people on the grid there is a good chance you’ll end up with Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Räikkönen. On one side there’s the bubbly German, who gleefully performs a not entirely convincing Fred Feuerstein or Crazy Frog impression over the team radio and had to run away from some of Michael Schumacher’s beer bashes after their numerous victories in the Race Of Champion’s nation cup.

A mildly beer buzzed Vettel had this to say……

Strangely enough both have confirmed in several interviews over the time that they are good buddies. This came to widespread attention at the height of the silly season, when Alonso, Räikkönen and the two Toro Rosso drivers were in the running for the coveted second seat at Red Bull.

Especially in German language interviews Vettel didn’t tire to reiterate that his preferred team mate would be Kimi and that he definitely preferred him over Alonso.

While many observers rubbished the idea as just mere smokescreen, both Auto Motor und Sport and Motorsport Total reported after the signing of Daniel Ricciardo that it was Dr. Marko who had vetoed Kimi’s transfer to Red Bull, overriding Vettel’s preference in favour of an alumnus from his Red Bull young drivers program.

Confirmation that the unlikely friendship is more than a spiel put up for the media came in two guises before and after the Japan GrandPrix. Showing their rivals Alonso and Webber how to give someone a ride after the race without incurring a reprimand, Räikkönen offered Vettel a seat on his private jet and they traveled back to Europe together.

Another confirmation came from Nico Hülkenberg. After his stunning drive in the Korean Grand Prix, German Broadcaster RTL produced a lengthy pre-race feature during which the world’s worst dressed man, RTL reporter Kai Ebel, interviewed the Hulk in a Japanese sushi bar. Asked how he gets along with the other German drivers, Nico confirmed that he gets along quite well with the other Nico (Rosberg) and especially Adrian Sutil. He ominously left out Vettel.

“Erm, there is that chap called Sebastian Vettel, too,” Ebel probed.

“Yeah well, we don’t really meet a lot,” Hulk answered. “He hangs out with Kimi all the time anyway, but we respect each other of course.“

It looks as if Dr. Marko deprived us of a really interesting and potentially hilarious scenario – two world champions in the same team, who don’t hate each other. With the two polar opposites Vettel and Kimi in the mix Red Bull could well have returned to the ‘cool days’ when they collected their trophies wearing a Superman cape or jumped into the pool at Monaco naked.

At the end of the day F1 is a show for the audience. And collectively they have come to the conclusion that, despite how much of a team player or a moddycuddled favourite son, or how well he can drive a car with 2 sec advantage

they boo him on seperate continents

The people have spoken, they ain't buying it, they are withholding respect, and no matter how quick Seb is to praise the team, people don't see him as a sporting great

More like a petulant kid who is not able to beat an average teammate without the team handicapping

and the finger is a great example of his team work?
