I posted this earlier, but in the wrong place  I put in the pool thread. Well it's a good read so I'm posting it again here

Coming back to the race and the red bull strategy, the judge ( sorry to keep quoting him, but I really like the things he says) puts some excellent points. He says it was a good move to split the red Bull strategy to cover Grosjean. But why wasn't the lead car given the option of which strategy? Couldn't make the tyres work? Not so, read the article. Horner revealed that he'd decided to put mark on a three stop 14 laps before telling mark. Why? Why let him run his race for14 laps assuming he's on a two stop. He'd have run it differently had he known. Anyway, I'll leave you to read it. Scroll down to the relevant article.

Conclusion. Vettel is the favoured boy.

Great post RC, the Judge is erm pretty fair isnt he

thing is everyone has opinions about just how much unsporting advantage Seb has over his teammate, everyone can look at the facts and evidence and make their own minds up

And we get Seb booed on different continents by different sets of F1 fans, its not rocket science to work out what the consensus is. Seb plus the team vs Webber is not really along the lines of the old Corinthian values

His lap times where good when they called him in for his second stop iirc

On lap 24 - one before Webber stopped, Webber did a 1:37.8, Vettel 1:37.51 - hardly indicative of Webber's tyres going off!

Grosjean had done a 1:38.38 on the same lap, so Webber - half a second quicker than the leader and only 0.3 off his team mate had to pit because his tyres were going off?

Sorry, I just dont buy it at all!

A race thread on here only managing 10 pages? F1 really does suck now huh.

Hi there Scotty! Long time no see! Not a massively long thread this time, but we've now got dedicated driver and team threads, so a lot of chat goes on in those. Also lots of offshoot threads about related incidents.

Sup. Yeah, busy times for me is what the score is here. But unbelievably brilliant, promising times for my life at the same time, so it's all slightly mental. Stopped in to see what the craic is and stuff - and also to drop a note on how crap things are in F1 right now. Haha...

Yeah i see the new mass of driver specific threads and stuff, somehow i have still posted in most of them! Except for Bottas. And that thread only has 15 posts, W T absolute F. I'll just go and bump that one right now.

:hehe: the driver threads that already existed were just moved in there, so you may well feature in a few of those. :)
Glad life is serving you well. Still getting on in engineering?
F1 is a bit boring at the moment with one thing and another.

Well somehow i've posted in almost all of them (except for irrelevant gimps like Gutierrez)! :hehe:

Yeah still doing that thing, taking a while cause of part time study mind. But i am optimistic of being part of one motorsport team or another at some level next season, things are coming together a bit. Got some cool projects on the go though, i do almost all the prep on this Hayabusa powered hillclimb car, which is immense fun! Tough to balance all commitments + a bit of regular work, but needs must. Been car shopping too, which SUCKS because i am picky with that.

*on topic comments-ish*

Yeah so i stopped watching the race when Vettel made his second stop. Credit to the guy for 5 on the trot, but the manner of EVERY win has been completely uninspiring for me.

Pirelli for me have completely lost all hope of getting respect from anyone now, this tyre construction change was a politically driven bitch move that single handedly ruined the season COMPLETELY.

A racing team!! That sounds fantastic! Keep us informed.
Agree completely on the tyres, rubbish! And on the manner of winning. It seems we get an odd flash of racing, rarely for the lead, and it's tantalisingly brilliant, then it's back to DRS, exploding tyres, saving tyres from about the second lap

How many pages does that 'other' forum manage for a race thread then?

10 seems pretty normal to me, especially since there weren't too many incidents in this race and the main talking point is just the continuation of Webber/Vettel which isn't too hot nowadays anyway.
