I can read all the jealousy with Ferrari having the most potent 1-2 punch in 2014 and maybe ever in the history of F1.

I think that's a bit rich

Reality check...both drivers don't really keep their teammates completely in check on Saturdays, though strong on Sundays. However, you still have the Domenicalli guy as a team boss and no real high profile signings lately in the technical team. Their development pace isn't up to scratch either, having the fastest car in Melbourne and right now probably the 3rd best car (occasionally 2nd best). Redbull is miles ahead of everyone else in development pace, and Mercedes seems to be the closest in keeping up. Even Lotus is keeping tabs with Ferrari as well.

I'd say Ferrari would be quite a potent 3-4 or 4-5 punch in 2014, but not more.

Except for James Allison and the other aero guy that Ferrari nicked from Lotus, who will actually be involved in the 2014 car!

Stephano agreed is a waste of space however he will be given the boot after the season is over as far as no high profile tech signings recently that is bunk as James Allison has just joined after his gardening leave and I don;t recall his name but Ferrari has signed Lotus top Aero guy who is now on gardening leave and will be joining Ferrari once the crops are brought in after the end of the season.

Ferrari has lost one of their Aero guys recently to Lotus but that is no loss.

Ferrari  will have the best 1-2 driver punch in 2014. The McLaren duo will be a close second

Button and Perez have hidden talents I'm sure

But theres gonna have to be a s*** load of digging in 2014 to get there

edit; I suspect you meant the Merc duo, and not the McLaren duo. Funny how Merc have asset stripped McLaren to the point that effectively Merc are now Mac, and Mclaren Honda and Button are the old Honda/Bar/Brawn team trying to get Brawn back

To be fair, I read the comments a few days ago and they were in the context of saying that Massa is not a slow driver and that their success would depend on Ferrari having a strong car next year because he didn't think that Kimi would be able to get any more out of a poor car than Massa would.

But is the implication that Alonso could get more out of it? Since he regularly beats Massa? I don't know. I'm asking. I didn't read the article.

It's not an implication, though is it? Alonso has consistently done better with the same car than Massa has.
Massa did better than Kimi, the last year or so of their time at Ferrari. Not much of a stretch, is it?

And, that's from me, a Kimi fan!!

Well I think it is a stretch, because the Massa that beat Kimi is not the same Massa that Alonso is now trouncing. Unless the drivers are in the same car at the same time ( not literally of course ..that wouldn't work) then it's very hard to draw comparisons. So I think Alonso may have been implying he would beat Kimi.........and well he might.
But I think he'll have to work harder than that to wind Kimi up.

I don't think the mind games would work on Kimi, even if they were intended or not.

He is all about the money, so as long as Ferrari are paying him the $$$, Alonso can bleat on all he likes.

That's my take on it anyway.

Yeah. Water of a ducks back to Kimi. But it will be interesting to watch just the same.

I doubt that's Alonso's intention, at all! He's trying to show support for a teammate who has had a rough time of it, these past few years.
Trying to be a friend to someone who has been supportive of him and their team. Nothing wrong with that.

As for Kimi, I doubt anything would wind him up, anyway! He doesn't care for the politics of F1, whereas Alonso is "the" diplomat!
I truly believe this will be a good match at Ferrari!

Now, all we need is a competitive car, so these guys can show their stuff!!
