I wonder if the rear blown exhaust stuff will ever make it's way down to road cars? Would improve performance when dropping down gears. THINK OF THE SPEED YOU COULD TAKE ROUNDABOUTS!!!

I was interested until I realised it was someone off another forum, with no real credentials.

Sorry Sagi.

Don't apologize! It's all technical-mechanical mumbo-jumbo to me!!
I figured someone here would "get it" and explain it... in English, that is!!

It says inside the Redbulls exhaust a special lining that burns when a set condition is met (by adjusting the fuel mixture and timing) the lining ignites and expands. This expansion forces gasses over the diffuser. So they get more rear downforce whilst in the corners.

My question about this is that if it only works for a few minutes how did it work for the entire grand prix last time out?

It's being suggested it can be activated by a Go-faster-around-corners-button that for a short time gives an advantage, so he may only be using it for a few seconds per corner. Although I think this whole idea is a bit far fetched.

Just playing devil's advocate:

Wasn't KERS considered far-fetched, too?
Putting a man on the moon?
The world being round, instead of flat?

A) It would be illegal as the materials that can go into the exhaust structure are very limited - would preclude any such coating.
B) The thought behind it would be for Q and perhaps the first few laps of the race.
