I started watching F1 at a time when Williams won five constructors' titles in six years, so to see them improving after a distinctly barren spell is long overdue. I think with teams like Williams coming back to a situation where wins are possible is a question of when rather than if, and in Rosberg they have a driver who could undoubtedly get the job done in a competitive car. Williams have never yet gone four seasons without a win so with their last win coming in Brazil in 2004 do they have a chance of snatching a win this year?

As long as they work at it, yes. And I think that places like Montreal and Monaco might be the type of place that could happen, or any wet circuit. But it's more likely that they will do it next year, in my opinion.

It would take a certain amount of good luck for them to win a race this year, but it is very possible. After all, only 7 cars finished in Auz!

I fear Williams wont have a competitive title winning car for a long time yet that's why i think Nico made a mistake in signing on till 2010 but i would be very happy to be proved wrong. Williams can only win if it rains or everybody else crashes or if they pray really hard.

I would have to say that there is a chance albeit small that William's could win a race this year but unlikely unless the race fall's into their hand's. I have a different outlook than you 8-ball concerning Nico signing till 2010 because I'm a firm believer in forming a bond with a team, especially with one with such a great history as William's, which imho cannot be accomplished in just 2 season's.

The bottom line is I think all of us truely diehard and longstanding F1 fan's are just patiently awaiting the time when William's is once again a WCC & WDC contender.

I think this year at least it certainly depends on BOTH Hamilton and Raikkonen, and probably their team-mates too, having problems at a race where BMW are uncompetitive. It's a lot of "If"s but there are plenty of precedents for freak wins or near-wins - Jenson Button in 2006, Fisichella in 2003, Johnny Herbert in 1999, Damon Hill in 1998 and Olivier Panis in 1996. The one thing all these races have in common is wet weather, and I suppose it wouldn't have taken much (a slightly harder bash from Kubica on Hamilton) for Webber or Kovalainen to win last years Japanese Grand Prix...

I still think there's a lot more to come out of the FW30 and it could easily be on par with the BMW, afterall Nico was comfy behind Kubica and infront of Heidfeld at Melbourne. I think they MIGHT sneak a win this year and grab some more podiums. Judging by the smoothness of the car and the lack of fins and flaps in comparison to the other cars, I think they're using the FW30 as a secret development weapon to get a jump on everybody in 2009 when the aero-restrictions come into place. McLaren did this at the start of 1998 by putting Adrian Newey's gardening leave between transfering from Williams to good use. It allowed him to do his homework on the 1998 regulations and prepare something for him to start work on as soon as he arrived in Woking.

Whilst everyone asks the question of when will Williams win again, there's also the question of when will BMW win their first race? They might have to wait too, although they're on the right track at the moment.
