What, are we going to have to be all politically correct and just hug and kiss each other?
:bs:
In the real world, if you steal, you are a thief, if you drive too hard, you are a speeder, if you ignore things, you are ignorant. Simple.
If you're the type of person who prefers 'misunderstood item relocator', or 'person handicapped by a heavy right foot' or 'person held back by lack of knowledge', you might want to try politics.

Im talking about you hdidng behind the subtle meaning of words. You were calling WB ignorant. If you think he IS ignorant, then just man up and say it.

I very much did. But I did so because he was as a matter of fact being ignorant, not because I choose to call him ignorant as name-calling. If you don't understand the difference between name-calling and pointing out behavior, there's no real point in arguing.

For someone who claims to have a strong moral compass, you sure do talk down to people and speak to them like crap sometimes.

Therefore I would like to point out you are a hypocrite, you need to re-asses at what level your morals lie, and stop presenting yourself as the great defender of morality.

It's very simple: don't tell lies, don't use double standards, don't act ignorant, and you won't hear from me. Do so, and I will point it out. Don't shoot the messenger.

And for the record, pointing out doesn't work if the very basis of your argument is flawed.
Drivers have been booed, and rightfully so, right after an act. Austria 2002, Indy 2005, Singapore 2008. But not months afterwards, in a completely different setting.

Calling a class-mate or a co-worker an idiot for doing something idiotic, sure, they may deserve it.
Calling a class-mate or a co-worker an idiot for months and months while he has done nothing wrong since, all the while being all buddy buddy with other idiots, you are the one who's an asshole who lacks common decency.

If you are the type of person who believes it is ok to forgo on common decency because you paid for a ticket, fine, so be it, then you are such a person. Accept it, live with it. But that doesn't mean that I have to agree with how you align your morals. That doesn't mean that I have to forgo common decency.

To me, these are opposing standards being selectively applied.

Im not talking about Vettel being boo'd, so there is no 'flaw in my argument'.

I am saying:you claim to have a decent set of morals, yet talk to people like crap.

Its that simple. If your morals were that great, you would treat people with respect, regardless of how they were talking to you. You can't chose when and how to apply these amazing standards of yours. You need to apply them at all times and to all equally.

And calling people here 'idiots' and 'asshole's' really isnt the decent thing to do. And will probably not help you keep away from fishing trips.

This thread seems to be descending into a catfight.

May I respectfully request all concerned that points related to Vettel - including the Boogate (which seems to have now become part of his CV) - be continued on the Sebastian Vettel thread in the "That driver" section?

Otherwise, pretty soon most of us will not know who's responding to whom regarding what.

Boogate is a fantastic name!

I have already applied for a patent and so don't get any bright ideas! :D

Damn, I was looking forward to unveiling the Boogate-3000

Ignorance is not accepting that anyone with an opposing opinion to yours could possibly be right... Ignorance is not being able to even accept there are opposing opinions.

Ignorance mnmracer is thinking you know it all.

The ignorance discussion did not start over an opinion.
It started over you IGNORING my/our motivations.
My motivation is one of respect and decency towards drivers. That is a FACT, not an opinion.

It seems the one having problems accepting opinions is you. You appear to be unable to accept my opinion that 'Boo gate' is disrespectful, petty and showing of a lack of common decency.

You're allowed your opinion, you're allowed to have Vettel be your Boo. What you're not allowed is to say I'm immoral or ignorant for what my opinion is. There's an inconsistency in what you're expecting of others and your behavior towards others. I was never personally disrespectful towards you, you on the other hand have seemingly no problem being disrespectful towards others in the name of righteousness.

What you're not allowed is to say I'm ignorant for what my opinion is.

You seem to keep confusing this.

I am not saying you are ignorant for your opinion.
I am not saying you are ignorant for your morals of finding it acceptable to boo.
I sad you were ignorant in IGNORING the FACT that my morals towards booing have nothing to do with Vettel.
I am saying you are ignorant for continuous ignoring the falseness of the motivation you attribute (since you keep bringing up Vettel) to me/us.

Is that clear now?

I was never personally disrespectful towards you

You are.
You KEEP contributing false motivations to me.

How long until the lies conversation comes back from the dead again...

Guys stop it now, it's getting stupid, can we not have a subjective discussion on the stats Vettel and other great drivers have achieved in F1 without resorting to questioning peoples morality or integrity?
