I have often wondered why they hold the Oz Grand Prix on public roads when there is a good custom built track - the Phillip Island Circuit in Victoria. Is it unsuitable for F1 racing?

Not sure. My only experience of it has been playing it on games. Even then, it was pretty uninspiring IMO.

I think Melbourne is a great place for the Grand Prix. More often than not, we are treated to an action-packed race, even if overtaking can be difficult there.

I like Melbourne a lot too. I think Phillip Island is a good circuit for MotoGP or WSBK, not sure if it will work for F1. Aside from the suitability for F1 issue, the upgrade costs to meet F1 standards might be prohibitive.

I think its one of the best tracks in MotoGP IMO, generally puts out good racing, not sure it would be the same for F1 though, but it would not even close to F1 standards. If F1 ever did leave Melbourne I would love it to return to Adelaide :cloud9: but probably never happen.
